I read that too, but couldn't find anything to back it up.

Looking online, this graph (from page 20 of this 1999 Parliamentary document) seems to disagree with that statement.

Hmmm. I suppose the average from 1979 to 1990 might be higher than the years immediately before and after this period, even allowing for the 1984/85 data.

EVERYTHING is going up..it's what happens.:rolleyes:

Just discovered that my VM bill is going up by Â£3...all my insurances went up,the car tax went up,the TV licence fee went up,local council tax went up...went up..went up...went up.

My sister's an OAP so has her own problems claiming for her heating allowance..:D

Sorry there is no way I can claim anything..:shrug: Anyway I can't see why I should.There are millions of us who can't.Just have to keep paying and grumbling about it.;)
