tell me about it! Especially on the beeb's on Have Your Say boards. I often get phoned after posting to see if I would like to be on a show, or just be quoted. I'll settle for the latter!

As for the original topic, one of my bestest mates is a mental health nurse, and left London as it was a very frustrating place to work. I'm sure it's not just London, but still. I am forever grateful that I've had my doc since I was very young, and he promised never to sign me over for ECT even though my mum had it (but she can't remember having it - one of the side effects) and it worked wonders. There's loads she can't remember actually... I'm really sorry the OP is having such a horrid time of it, but everyone believes the medical profession knows best and never question it. Personally, I would love to argue the case of why can't fat people have the pill - but NICE is a law unto itself, unfortunately. :(

Is there any reason for keeping this thread open? It's not exactly a laughing matter is it?

I concur with Danielf. Which for a second there thought was Jerrek!!! Ban button almost got hit.

My line of work has dealings with the mental health sector and it is a sensitive subject which really shouldn't be put into the public spot light like this.
