But surely if he had "friends in high places", he wouldn't have gone to prison?

According to that logic, Tommy Sheridan must have "friends in high places", as he only served just over a year of a three year sentence....

It's quite normal for people to be released from prison after having served only a fraction of their sentence so presumably they all have 'friends in high places'.

Confused? Me as well but on the bright side Mr Sheridan is going absolutely tonto with rage right now. :D

Why would any potential lie have had any bearing on the case? After all, the thing that was being decided upon was what was the source of the TRUTH and not whether the info gained was true or not.

Tommy Sheridan means nothing to a lot of people in Scotland now, To me he is only a loudmouth, He caused a lot of heartaches telling people not to pay the Poll Tax when it came out and people were evicted or they were in debt, while he was in his big fancy house. He was caught being a bad boy etc and done time. Then he started to latch onto the Yes campaign. Just cannot stand the man, Hope I have not offended anyone ,

I suspect that if Andy Coulson had friends in high places, at the very least his name would have been dropped from the investigation very quickly, with possibly the entire thing going away (as previous investigations appear to have done).
