Re: internet, ps3 and xbox 360 wireless router help
The Homehubs are indeed wireless.
The earlier ones V1.0 and V1.5 actually support linking 2 together wirelessly although its a bit of a PITA to setup. The 3rdparty DD-WRT/Tomato firmwares that run on certain routers have a option to turn the device into a wired > wireless bridge I think the AP i linked to on ebuyer also does this. Basically what happens is you set up the device to be a Client bridge, then it connects to the wi-fi network and you hard-wire you devices to it. I've done it with a WRT160N running dd-wrt I actually have a pair of them 1 downstairs being my router and 1 upstairs with my PC, Printer, Phone and Xbox wired into it, it then connects wirelessly to the one downstairs ;) Although that particular router would be more than you'd need for this specific purpose, I choose it for the wireless N ;) I do actually have the xbox adaptor somewhere but as it's wired to the bridge with everything else I don't use it. they do sometimes do offers on them, seem to remember getting £15 off mine. EDIT: Just had a thought powerline networking adaptors are another option e.g homeplug |
