Buts lets not forget the OP was asking in the context of web page design. and so screen resolution is not really relavent, since whos to say their browser is in full screen mode anyway

I sit about 3-4 feet from my screen on average and have that running at 1440x900 (WS) and 1280x1024 (Normal Aspect)

I run 1280x1024 on my 19" 4:3 screen & 1280x720 on my 26" but I rarely use the 26" for anything other than HD content.
I used to have a compaq V50 15" and ran that at 1024x768 without sitting on top of the screen I have good eyesight. |
