I think it's on the fly, there is a slight delay when you do it via cover flow so I presume thats whats happening.

Cannot be sure though.

Re: Mac OS 10.5 to be released 26th October

mine is here and I am just installing now ... probably not the best thing to do after 4 bottles of peroni but hey ho!

EDIT Process:
  • Disk in & selected install OSX 10.5 Leapord
  • Hung during the shutdown (VMWare Fusion Stopped it!) so hard reboot:rolleyes:
  • Booted back up of DVD
  • Default option was to upgrade needing 5.5gb of space!:erm:
  • Changed to Erase and Install needing something like 12gb of space - glad I have a macbook pro now!:D
  • First estimate was a 50 minute install which quickly dropped to 35 mintes - Annoying that power saver kicks in whilst running even though on mains (come on apple) - Last 5 minutes seem to take an age!
  • Finally a big green tick with a "you must restart" which it does itself in 30 seconds
  • reboots into a very nice movie of "Welcomes" in lots of langauges
  • Then select country and keyboards, Do you want to transfer data?
  • Network setup
  • Apple ID & Registration information
  • Create logon account and then snapshot for image (not!)
  • Time zone, Date and Time
  • Then a don't forget to register
  • All complete!

Fairly boring install process - No "I am doing this bit" just a progress bar with no %age shown! Time remaining about a xx minutes that's it - doesn't even say which Mac OS X it's installing!

First impressions - It's OK (Nah its cool) Safari 3 is on and not beta

And that boys and girls is my leapord unleashed!
