Re: ATMT HD363N Help?

A twenty-ninth thought: Does the router have a client list? I know ours does.

The http://storage/ thing only works on a rDNS basis anyway.

The http://storage thing used to work. LOL. but now nothing does, ive even added the Drive to my client list. but before i added it i noticed that it was picking up two clients (Should have only been 1). One of them was 192.168.1.2 and the other one was 1.3. They both had the same HostName. Im really confused!

One of the perils of changing IPs. I suspect that one of them is a redundant entry, as the network would neither allow two items to have the same IP and hostname, nor one item to have two IPs or hostnames.

Do consider DHCP though. You might want to exclude the NAS though, mind you, the storage link should work. Try nslookup on it, or even pinging the IP you believe it's on, to check it's online, maybe look at the list of devices attached to the network.

Can you open the NAS and post pics?

It dosnt matter anymore!!!! Thank god. Ive fixed it! After all this time all i had to do was turn it off then hold the on button down for 30secs!!! that resets the IP's. Anyway, Thank You Verry Much!!!!

15. When my Network HDD 363N is left powered on and connected to my network, problems occur when I switch my PC on. My IP configuration are incorrect, they where for instance 192.168.x.x but are now 169.254.x.x.?

The reason for this is that your PC is configured to obtain IP address from the DHCP server. If you have already have a DHCP server on your network it is advised to switch the DHCP server off on the network HDD 363N as this will solve IP configuration errors. The 363N Network HDD by default has the DHCP server enabled and allocates an IP address range from 169.254.x.x.
