No, he didn't - he resigned from being captain, that's all. |

If Madrid are doing so well, why all the speculation about getting rid of the manager? |

Re: Are Steve McClaren's days numbered
Lampard is a great player, but not for England. He and Gerrard cannot play together. I sometimes wonder too if Lampard is being carried by Makalele or Essien - thus so many goals from midfield.
Don't get me wrong, I've love to see him pull on a Sky Blue shirt, but there are some club players who just don't turn it on for England (Wright, Barnes etc). |
Re: Are Steve McClaren's days numbered
Stuck the England match on at half time in the Norn Iron game. Oh dear oh dear.
PS Check out Healy's goal. It was a belter |

There's no doubt they are great players but some just aren't producing for England right now. A good manager needs to be strong and make tough even unpopular decisions - is there any evidence that McLaren can do this??? Answers on a postcard to: The FA, C/O Cloud Cuckoo Land. Re Beckham - He's yesterday's news and even he knows it hence his lucrative contract to take it easy in the US. Hardly the sign of a man certain he can cut the mustard at the highest level. |
Re: Are Steve McClaren's days numbered
Gonna have to watch the highlights later, as by the sound of it, the Andora team are a bunch of dirty cheats. England should know how to play against this sort of team really, though.

Re: Are Steve McClaren's days numbered
Andorra 0 - 2 England now, it looks like Gerrard will be made a Lord and has kept McClaren in his job.

Re: Are Steve McClaren's days numbered
I'm watching this load of rubbish on sky - it's depressing. :(

Gerrard has been good and probably saved McClaren's job...........for now. Other 'highlights' inc Richards and Lennon I though for flashes in the first half - the rest of them can go back to their clubs as overpaid yobs where they seem to care more for the big Premiership games. |
