When you say "on top" do you mean on top of the picture that Rammy posted or "on top" of your foot?

You can get referred pain that may lead you to think that the primary cause is in a place where it isn't.

Difficult to assess over a forum isn't it Rammy. My first thought on reading the post was Plantar Faciitis but it with out a more detailed examiniation it could be metatarsalgia or Achilles bursitis.....etc etc.

Wayne.
Is it worse in the morning?
When you say walking on your toes do you mean tip toes or deviating your foot on it's side/towards the little toe?
Can you clarify if the pain is worse on the top of your foot or the bottom ie sole versus the other side?
Does prodding the area with your finger reproduce it?

'moist' toilet tissue, straight from the fridge, is very soothing.

Sorry to hear you are in pain. I hope whatever it turns out to be, you get better soon.

...especially when you can't use terms like dorsal, medial, ipsilateral etc...which would ideal for forum descriptions....

I walk on tip toes.

Pain is worse on top of foot.

Prodding the area where the pain is does reproduce it. It s worse in the morning.

Get some baby wet wipes Russ and eat plenty of fruit, I have never suffered with them but I hear that helps.

Oh and Ramrod is very good so listen to him Wayne :)

but where on flexor digitorum brevis? Near the top of the pic (in the white tendony looking bit named the 'plantar aponeurosis') or more towards the bottom nearer the toes?
and how long have you had it and how did it start?

Right, we are looking at the top of the foot in that piccy......with a pain in that area my first thought would be that you had knocked it or perhaps were wearing a new pair of shoes a bit tight...........?

No no redness, though my mum has bought a support bandage home for me to wear. I must say it feels better than it was.
