its illegal mate their known as clones & if you use one your breaking the law. i was gonna say report em to eBay but it looks like someone already has, i recently reported someone for selling a Sony VTX-S760U (i know cuz i have one) as they'd brought a Sky + remote & were claiming that its a Sky + receiver, Sony never made Sky + receivers, so its very misleading.

erm, you are replying to a three and a half year old post..........:D

if by standard you mean one bought direct from a supplier then no, but if you're in the uk its as good as a door stop as you can't connect it legally to any cable network in the uk

i mean NTL/Telewest/VM modems that they have failed to collect from their ex customers & are not modified/hacked in anyway.

i'd say no as they are rented off VM and not yours to sell, there may be some form of possession law that allows you to claim it as yours

Re: Chipped broadband modems??

No matter where a modem comes from, even if you could sell it, it is a plastic paperweight until Virgin activate it.

Which they won't do unless they have issued it to you
