Re: Films to see in 2019
Correct but US release dates often differ from UK dates and when I post any dates in threads I always check them on imdb first because they publish country specific dates. I looked it up when I first watched the trailer and it defo said November 27th but I have now checked again as you queried it and it does indeed say September. I don't know whether they made a boo boo and fixed it or whether it has just been brought forward.

Well thats a pretty useless trailer, I still have no clue what that is about - one to avoid I guess.

Always weird when two films on the same subject come out in close proximity to one another, happened last year when two films about the Norway shooting came out around the same time.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
I think my one is a mini series because they said all episodes are available next week on demand.

Yeah I am looking forward it, it's one of that annoying Oscar-bait films which means by the time we get to see it it will have been almost a year since it's been shown for the first time.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
While this is not a cinema release and the UK will probably not get this officially till 2020 as it's on disney+ but airing there from November 12. I thought I would add the trailer.
Shame this isn't a cinema release as it looks great. All the dogs were rescue animals and later all adopted after filming. |
Re: Films to see in 2019
fantastic, I think they have missed a trick not releasing over the xmas hols (unless they want Frozen 2 to rule the world).
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
I wish Disney+ would get a UK Release date.

They've released the cast list for next years The Eternals. It's a good line-up.

Re: Films to see in 2019
I am reserving judgement. A trailer can make even the most rubbish of films (TLJ) look good. I loved the music though, i can listen to the Star Wars soundtracks all day.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
I did enjoy TLJ. I don't think it's as bad as people keep saying.
Some interesting shots in that footage. ---------- Post added at 16:39 ---------- Previous post was at 16:37 ---------- Quote:
Also C3PO looked crazy evil as has red eyes. |

Re: Films to see in 2019
I am pretty sure it is Rey. She just has a emotionless expression and the framing of her face is different due to the cloak. Her expression and the nature of the shot makes me think something isn't as it seems though...
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
yeah, it is going to have to be a nightmare she is having about inadvertently being lured to the dark side or something.

Only makes sense if they're going to keep her for future films as the big bad. Can't have her switch and be killed off (presumably) in one film. |

Terminator Dark Fate trailer.

I am really looking forward to that now, I think it looks fab.

The Joker just looks dreadful, I will be avoiding that.
Howerver, Terminator looks awesome, really looking forward to that. |

It's a fresh take on the origins of the character and I think I am intrigued by it. Society made him crazy. Also I think it's going to be rated 18. Terminator didn't grab me in the first teasers, especially after how poor the last ones have been. However the new trailer really made it sound great, I hope it's not just the editing of said trailer. I also love that it ignores everything after T2, and follows on from it directly. Linda H still looks badass in it. |
Re: Films to see in 2019
The reception to Joker is that it's quite good and quite dark. It seems to be going down a realistic path and displaying the breakdown of someone rather than leaning into the Batman thing. This is a film that's premiered at Venice rather than getting a big blockbuster release.

That means it is going to be cack and good for nothing apart from a master class in film making or acting.

Marvel are already doing their Marvel thing. DC might be making a good decision to take a different direction instead. Especially with Batman since it's usually been a darker, grittier universe. |
Re: Films to see in 2019
talking of which, this months issue of SFX has just come through the door if you are interested:
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
Yours was late then, got mine a few days ago :D
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
you are right. I got an email last week saying "your new copy of SFX is on the way" and normally it comes the next day after the email. I was conscious of the fact that it was late and if it hadn't have come within the next few days I was going to give them a ring and tell them it must have got lost in the post. I have been a subscriber for about 11 years and haven't lost a copy yet.

yup, the guy is an absolute legend. Funnily enough there is another thread in this section of the forum for which 5 movie directors would you like to meet and I tweaked my response to top 5 people and John Williams was No. 1.

Yeah me neither. Unfortunately it looks like one of those they bang out and think you are going to want to see out of pure star power i.e. Ryan Reynolds.
