Don't get me wrong this is just for the disc checking, there's likely going to be just as many cheaters and thieves on the new console. So in general indeed it's a pain for others unless you're like me and signed in constantly anyway. I'd rather it not ship with Kinect though, something I've never used. I don't agree on the whole bring people together via gaming and communication. I simply don't use any of the Xbox 360's communication features and just play with my mates whilst in a call on skype. What's worse is most of the time it's the game being targeted and not Microsoft. I.e A user steals another user's Xbox Live account to purchase MS points to then use on FIFA. (See FIFA 12/13 Xbox live account thefts) nothing to do with the new disc checking system in general but these type of people will take free stuff if they can. A store and online store are two different things, You can't search everyone in a store because it just takes too long and there'd be an uproar getting felt up everytime you wanted to purchase something, this system is online, no one is being searched in a physical way and there's no long queue backed up to the door to get out. Now let's be real and sensible here, aimed at the guy in the article talking about trust and relationships. He really expected to be able to do whatever he wishes without it being verified in any way? Take a look at Piracy online, how many would actually be honest about it, what this guy is saying is incredibly stupid. |

There's also exploits to get Xbox Live completely free due to a flaw, naturally I'm not going to be linking anything in this thread because it's theft of services and illegal. Microsoft simply console ban these people rather than chasing them with the court's so it's easy to see why people still do it -_- An example of the FIFA issues. Quote:

re: The Xbox One Thread
Reading between the lines of Microsofts latest statement on its new DRM policy
"Hey, buy the Xbox One, a console where you can rent games for £89.99!!" (Yeah, that price is just a placeholder on Amazon UK, but why would Amazon choose a figure almost double the price of 360 games?) |
re: The Xbox One Thread
Lots of questions, and i don't think we will find out all the facts until it is released. I am seriously considering the PS4 again as the Xbox feels like big brother from everything i read, hopefully we will know more on Monday when E3 arrives.

Probably as it has been on there for the last few years.

Yes through the 'Live Event Player' app.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Cool :)

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Well if the Xbox One need to talk to MS every 24 hours or it won't work I won't buy.
I take mine on holiday so my nephew will come along. |

What they should have done is do the 24hrs thing IF the disc isn't in the drive, but if you put the disc in the drive then you can freely play it in offline mode, but there has been no mention of being able to play in offline mode. Hopefully Sony won't go down the same route as MS seem to be going. We may find out more tomorrow from both consoles. X1 E3 at 17:30 PS4 E3 at 2AM zzzz |

Anyone know what site we can watch Xbox One E3 on? Will it be available vix Xbox dashboard? Whats time it start as ive read its at 5PM GMT and read starts at 5:30PM GMT
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
On the dash it says 5:30, and yes it'll be available on dash via the Live Events App. I'll tell you one thing that will happen tonight. The streams will make the next-gen games look like crap.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Project Spark may have just won E3.
The switching between games is impressive. Live Streaming partnership with Twitch. No more £100+ capture cards. Microsoft are killing it. I can see the cost of Xbox Live increasing though. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Going to put £100 a month away until November. Would just pay it now in a lump sum but if something comes up I'd leave myself with zilch until payday. I usually own both consoles too but I won't be touching a PS4 until the year after. I live rent free with a high wage and even I can't pay near enough £1000 of my wage out in two transactions so it's going to be even harder for those paying bills and such.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Tbh I don't really care about how much it's going to cost lol, the only thing is they said November, but didn't give an actual date

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I wonder what the PS4 will cost... £429 for an Xbox One is actually slightly higher than the launch price of the PS3.
If Sony comes out with a lower price, plus doesn't have all the regular online check-ins & other restrictions of the Xbox One, it'll be laughing... especially as the PS4 already has the edge when it comes to power. |

If Sony come out with a higher price than that then it's just ludicrous considering with the Xbox you're also paying for the Kinect. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
There were a few games in there that could be the ''winner of E3'' similar to how Watch Dogs stole the show last year.
Project Spark may do just that. The consoles are only going to get better as they age. Remember the launch titles of the 360/PS3 when compared to today's end-console games? This could be the year FIFA falls to PES with no one but itself to blame. The Fox engine may just save us from the farce that is FIFA and EA. |

Sony may have learnt their lesson with the PS3, although it soild well at laucnh sales dropped enough that they lowered the price by just under £100 and release the 40gb version at amost half the launch price |

Sony can make such a march on this next generation if they:
I can't help but feel Microsoft have made some serious mistakes with the One and it's just a case of it Sony will be aggressive and capitalise. |

the Ones price will drop a week after the PS4 is released. Not interested in this till its cheaper . Shame

So the PS4 does not include the camrea which can be brought in addition for £44 so its just over £30 less than Xbox One to me thats not bad for the Xbox One

I've had the xbox 360 since day one, I've never had a PS2 or PS3 and from what I've seen so far with the restrictions in place for the new xbox I think I will be opting for the PS4 this time around. Sorry M$, the price isn't a factor but you've over done it with the DRM I'm afraid.

There's no true winner though in terms of sales.. there never is, both consoles will ship an equal amount give or take a few million just like the current gen. Microsoft will get a head start granted but Sony will have a better launch this time round. Each have their exclusives and whilst I preferred the Xbox exclusives there's someone else out there that liked the PS ones. In summary both consoles will sell and that's that. The jumped up hype and arguments will continue around the world but at the end of it both companies will make millions and millions. So let's get onto something that isn't going round in a circle and that we can all enjoy... again not EA, their conference was pants. Ubisoft! the best at E3 by a mile, The Division and Watch Dogs just look sensational. AC IV: Black Flag. Awesome lineup, the map in the crew just looks truly amazing and the customization... |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Wondering to myself how many out there will eventually fork out for BOTH? ;)

Nah, I believe Microsoft will pull the plug on the restrictions soon, It's believable that they assumed Sony would follow suit if they did it first and it just didn't happen. so it's a 50/50 gamble. Publishers could favour MS in hopes of making more money, there's also the possibility that the Xbox could flop and the PS4 would prosper meaning Publishers aren't on the greener grass anyway. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
New 360 and PS4 on shopping list though no hurry to buy but 1 won't be the majority of our game buys are preowned and we sell on the new stuff quite often unless its really good . Can't see the 1 ever coming in the door unless Sky are going to use it as a set top box ;)

The Xbox one will now be £299 I bet ya and the restrictions dropped. They have months to sort this and most likely if they have a brain between them have policies in place to implement the change quickly to the software
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Was so eager to grab the xbox yesterday and now I'm feeling like I don't want either, the only thing that attracted me were the exclusives. I may just be better off forking out the extra few hundred for a GTX 780 and just sticking to PC.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
It'll be months after release of both consoles before i make up my mind though, to see which 1 has the better quality games, if they have a difference.
What has put me off the X1 is the DRM, kinect plugged in, used games restriction, Need to connect to the internet once every 24hrs. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I might pre-order a One in case they get rid of all the restrictions but otherwise it's PS4
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yes if MS got rid of the restrictions and the games quality was as good as the PS4 if there was a difference, then i would get an X1.
However i can't see them doing that. |
