Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Dinks!! Good to have you back!!
To be honest anything Cardiff do makes it a sad day for football. |
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Its the thing of the times now that Cardiff have to change colours.
As l have said before, Money speaks in football, everything connected to a club now involves 'how much money we can make' its like Spurs for example. If and when Spurs build this new stadium, they plan to change the name of the ground in the means to make money out of it. Trouble is, it won't change the price of entry. |

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
It's all one-upmanship. Swansea built a brand new 20,000 seater stadium, Cardiff build a bigger one. Swansea get in to the Premiership, Cardiff want to do something like this.
The idea is to make Cardiff more marketable (they're also changing their name from the Bluebirds to the Red Dragons) and the owners have promised to pump £100m in to the club for going along with this. As a Swans fan I love to watch Cardiff fail but I see both sides of this. Traditional fans don't want such a radical change however £100m being put in to a club (and presumably a sizeable chunk going on players) that's not even Premiership quality is pretty impressive. |
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
and having a welsh red dragon isn't a bad marketing image..even if you were blue before
|
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
very sad day and I hope the fans make a statement with their feet and don't turn up and don't buy the new kit either. You can't change tradition and if they wanted they could have made the red kit the away kit
|
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
The owners are morons. Cardiff are not going to become popular in the far east because they wear red. The owners have looked at the clubs that do well in Asia (United, Liverpool, Arsenal) and have concluded it must the be shirt colour! There are other reasons those clubs are well known internationally....

It was Ivan time tonight. They know the payroll is messed but Arsenes ethos is to have minimum superstars along with packed upcomers or something. I dont know to be honest. i just hope the overhaul will happen. we could easily sign players that dont cost 30mil but it all depends whether Arsene finally wakes up and gets rid of players robbing the club contributing to nothing.
do i hold faith. well look we've got Denilson out on loan at Sao Paulo. a few mill will do for him yet the deal is still not done! instead he has 1 more year left on his contract and hes talking of the loan being extended. ---------- Post added 07-06-2012 at 00:03 ---------- Previous post was 06-06-2012 at 22:35 ---------- Has Daniel Levys mum passed away? I heard a strong rumour that ESPN and AL Jazeera TV are joining forces to beat Sky for all the football rights.
There will be some battle if this does happen, as if l am not wrong the last time there was a bidding war, Al Jazeera said that they would bid big time for a jewel in the crown of Premier League football. |
Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
ESPN want more prem games. if they are joining forces then they must have an international thing brewing as al jazeera has nothing but a news channel in the UK.
Sky will try push for more games. not sure whats going to happen to 3pm kick offs and packages available. the demand is high. the money is just going up. growth or awareness of the league. PR etc. etc. ? |
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Aljazeera said the last time these games came up that they wanted to challenge for football -which popular in the far east.
BUT, this will benefit armchair football fans, Sky are far to expensive and it will be great if Sky get a bruising. |
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
If Aljazeera and ESPN get it, how does it benefit us?
Depends what they charge, and they may well charge a premium for a football channel. Personally, I don't think Sky's charge is that bad. I prefer to pay nothing, but suspect that will never happen. |
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
you might be getting mixed up with Englands rights and the rest of the world. Sky will always have their strongehold here. its international or areas rights aljazeera want and with ESPN they could work together to push for more. the appeal is only growing. they get to broadcast 3pm fixtures like Setanta Ireland.

Arsenal signing of Yann M'Vila effectively confirmed by statement from Rennes on French Stock Exchange. So that's Podolski, M'Vila and Giroud, all heading for the Emirates. If anything can persuade Robin Van Persie to stay at the club, surely these statements of intent will. Three big and important signings, which will surely please Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal fans. Major contrast to last summer when it was all about exits. Onus now on RVP to clarify his position.

Being a mad Spurs fan, l will expect ALL players to stay at the club.
Daniel Levy is a shrewed businessman, and he was tough during the last transfer window and said that NO ONE is leaving. I also expect Harry to stay, as the club know that there isn't anyone out there better than Harry to keep Spurs in the top four. The only thing about Spurs is that they don't let anyone know about dealings until its done. |
Re: Football Season 2012/2013
There were rumours by someone within finances a few weeks ago that a big payment had been made by Arsenal. This stock exchange thing brings up nothing at all. 'Arsenal are close to signing Messi' great that could at least be someone behind the scenes but posting info from a stock exchange yet not even thinking about it being a public exchange? dumbass.
