Peter, if you think the volume of advertising sales calls required to fill a Sunday paper could have begun at any time significantly in advance of the launch date being announced, and gone both unnoticed and unreported by NI's competitors (some of whom hate that organisation even more than you, which has got to be saying something), then you really are living in a fantasy.

Not good, Jordan the coloumist, paying tribute to Marie Colvin, a woman she could identify with (to be fair I think that was a typo, I think she meant to say she could identify her as a woman), other highlights included a Bishop preaching forgiveness, new starts and thanking God (Rupert) for seven days of The Sun.

Glad a didn't pay for it but will begrudge spending a quid on it when it's my turn, even the football coverage didn't do much for me and what a great first front page, Amanda Holden's baby, hardly a current news story, had they left it much longer the baby would've been walking.

For a much hyped first edition frankly I did, must cost a fortune to produce as well with all those guest columnists...

Please tell me you don't mean Jordan, aka the model. They cannot have thought that Jordan, the model, is the correct person to pay tribute to a war correspondent. Are you sure you don't mean a fellow war reporter who is based in Jordan?

These threads always make me laugh..

the 14.16% that said they would buy it..they go and buy it and read it bla bla bla then move on.. :) :)

the 77.88% that said they would never buy or read it..

well they spend the rest of their life sitting in a thread moaning about how they would never buy or read it .. :erm: :erm: :erm:

lol priceless :p:

some people just love a good old moan..i find it so interesting regarding the amount of time they spend moaning about things they don't want, rather than being positive about things they do want :monkey:

I did not buy it because of what News international did. It was that bad that Murdock fell on his knife today. When they prove they will never resort to the scummy tricks they have got up to in the past i might note might give them a chance. Until then its a alternative for andrex

The Sun on Sunday' sales 'down 500,000+

Quote:

The Sun on Sunday reportedly endured a more than 500,000 drop in sales for its second edition yesterday, although the fall is only slightly above Rupert Murdoch's estimates.

News International's new Sunday edition of The Sun sold around 3.22 million copies when it launched on February 26 as the replacement for the News of the World, which was shut down last year at the height of the phone hacking scandal.

According to early unofficial industry estimates reported by The Guardian, the second edition of the tabloid paper is thought to have sold just over 2.6m yesterday.

It seems things are not going as well for the Sun on Sunday as they had hoped.:)

Quote:

The Sun's Sunday edition suffered a surprise slump on its fourth weekend, losing more than 300,000 in sales, leaving the circulation of Rupert Murdoch's new weekend tabloid hovering at just over 2.3m.

Industry estimates indicate that the title was down by about 12% on the previous week's sales of 2.7m – and down more than a quarter from its high-profile 3.22m debut a month ago

Of course they are. It's the paper that revealed all the scandal of phone hacking, blagging, computer hacking, and corruption of our police force and politicians. They have every right to put NI under the microscope for using less than savoury methods not to investigate true newsworthy causes but to chase after bimbos like Jorden Price and stupid footballers caught with their pants down and the relatives and family of murdered children.
