Current debt as of end of march 2011.

3.7x OCF is nothing.
VM also have £8.6bn in assets.
"deep debt" is not a term that can be used to describe it. Hence why in 2 years their shares have rose 5x in value.

I think you'll find they've spent a shed-load of money on the new TV encryption system.

You can get their accounts from the investors section and get the info from them regarding how they fund their day to day activities.

Edit: Sorry, I missed The Don already stating the above

More will arrive at some point , HD is a growth market for VM.

i heard VM were in talks with other tv providers ( good for them ) be nice if they get more channels ! and more HD !

Re: Virgin Media lack of tv investment

out of curiosity why do VM not air the free premium call adult channels?

carlwaring 14-05-2011 00:38

Re: Virgin Media lack of tv investment

Because no contract exists for them to do so. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, anyone can launch a channel on satellite but if that channel wants to be on cable then they have to discuss it with VM and a contract is required.

Oh, and if you want porn, I'd stick the internet. Apparently ;)

what about freeview? they managed to get on there also.

Where did you get 6% from?

I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that nothing was added between this and the past price increase. I was a customer for just under two years and saw plenty of stuff addded between then and when I left with no prices increasing during that time.

Don't know a thing about freeview but I suspect it will be more like satellite than cable.

An increase of £2 from £35 to £37 works out at a 6% increase.

If anyone can tell me what has been added over the past year apart from ITV1 +1 which would make this 6% more pallitable then I'm all ears.

Thats,My point what l have been making for the last year is the distinct lack of SD channels added in what is now becoming a drought.:(:(

Which tv package costs 35?

XL plus the basic (cheapest) package telephone line. My monthly bill is £37.49

TV XL went up by £1, which was around 4% if taken with a phone line, or 3% without.

Your entire price rise doesn't relate to tv.

Plus you said in an earlier post that the increase is inflation busting which it is not. In real terms you are probably paying less for your tv now.
