So I got an email today telling me Damien invited me to Google Wave. So it turns out that what I thought was an invite from Damien was infact not. It was a normal Google invite.

That's possibly why I got the invites/nominations.

Upshot is that I have an invite link from Damien. In case your reading this, I'll PM you so you get that link back. I've not clicked it yet so assume anyone can use it.

Its been 3-4 weeks for me and i've not had a wave to send out, although i hardly ever log in to Google Wave as it looks pointless at this time for me.

I've had mine for longer than snoopz and till not had any to send out. It seems to be random, like a lottery.

I started my wave account on 30/10 and got my invites this morning. I have some invites going spare now so if you want to PM me his email address I will give him an invite. You can always owe me one when yours come in. Up to you. :)

I have now had a total of 32 invitations to spread about. Somehow I have ended up with 2 accounts thanks to my dear son adding my family email details. Still have 23 invitations going spare if any one has friends, neighbours, relatives or even workmates etc. etc. etc. needing an invite. :D

Does any one know if it's possible to merge two wave accounts?

If you invite yourself and use a different email address you get more invites, I applied a couple of weeks ago and got my invite tonight with 8 invites, so I invited myself and now have 15 invites.

So anyone wants one let me know via PM.

I have invitations coming out of my ears. Both my wave accounts have given me 2 lots of 8 invitations. LOL if I invite myself to join I will be totally overrun with the things. :D

So what does everyone think.Anyone actually managed to find a use for this application?

I've 23 invites by the way..but as I cannot seem to find a way to use it that is better than Facebook or MSN(though it does seem to have more privacy than Facebook) I'm failing to see it becoming a large part of my online life.

I have two wave accounts. In general it just seems like an over complicated version of Facebook. I have used the one opened in my family name, putting up photos and arranging a couple of get togethers but I wouldn't say it has really been a roaring success. We started off using it then swapped back over to the simpler and much more user friendly Googletalk so we can all natter as usual. I haven't used my other 'public' wave account at all.

It was revolutionary but the trouble is with Google is if something isn't an instant success, they can it.

Wave was supposed to be Email 2.0 (and upgrade we badly need, it hasn't changed since the 70s) but they spent too much time laying the ground work and not enough time promoting it.

Depends on how you use it.. We were going to use it at work. Never understood why, everyone who was going to use it works in the same building, and it's actually quicker for us to go and see the people we are working with.

TBH, I am not entirely surprised. Yes, it had a funky UI, but it didn't seem to do anything a number of other products don't do. Products which don't require that you send potentially secret information to a server outside your intranet. OK, that's more of a concern from a corporate point of view, but they did seem to be pushing Wave to the enterprise customers.
