First time in ages. Could be coincidence.

No increase in download times for me, but then again, I'm currently on a 300k connection so will have to ask for the upgrade.

Should I or shouldn't I?

I got the same downtime in Manchester (Wythenshawe area) but at 1am, I'm on 750k there's been no speed increase though.

When you go through to the next section it tells you about the new speeds - if you don't know your password I guess you'll have to call them.

OMG!!

Once again this board is way ahead of customer services.

I just tried to change from 1.5 mb to 2 mb and was told that they had no roll out date and that their system wasn't updated yet.

Apparently clicking the 2mb button on my account doesn't do anything

Seems I can either upgrade to 3mb online and pay 37.99 for another month or wait until I get my bill and call CS again.

Can we get some sort of Mod interaction here......If the upgrade was supposed to happen automatically over the next few weeks - and the 8th was the day that NTL go live with SELLING the new tiers to new cutsomers, well, somethign just seems wrong. I wouldn't at all be surprised if there was an admin charge on these upgrading peeps bill next month.

Hope not....anyone keen to share their knowledge on this one?

I'm in cov area, and don't really want to upgrade until i know more.

Customers on the 750K package or 1.5MB package, will receive a FREE automatic upgrade to 2MB and 3MB. 750K customers with a black PACE Set top box and want to change to the new 2MB speed, need to arrange with ntl a Set top box swap, this will be a free swap.

Since the link is triggering the new upgraded speeds and therefor the new pricing packages the likelyhood of that happening is slim ;)

People-I've added a poll to this thread for those who have been upgraded to vote in.

Please vote according to what part of the ntl franchise area you fall into so we can follow the upgrade's path.

If you're unsure as to whether you are Bromley or Langley supplied, then please just ask. :)

Interesting link, found this in it:
Quote:

What happens if I reach my usage allowance?

Over the next 12 months, ntl will provide tools to allow customers to measure their data usage. When these tools are available, customers who approach their data allowance will be able to choose to

* reduce their data usage for the remainder of the month
* upgrade to a tier of service with a higher usage allowance
* pay for usage above their allowance.

Until these tools are available, ntl will monitor usage but not apply the 3GB allowance, except in cases where heavy use is affecting network performance.
