Production values are so poor on ITV channels though, no mistake. Regularly I see timecodes and title cards popping up before or after a program, proving whoever is in the backroom dealing with transitions is a complete muppet, or team of muppets. Also, ITV have the worst quality streams on their SD channels, especially on Freeview. They're so low bitrate there is regular aliasing/quantisation noise. All this before I run down the quality of the programs themselves! :D

the article states that ESPN and SKY have agreed to a deal to pay the SPL for the rights to air the SPL matches thats all, there is nothing that changes in regards to ESPN and their current pay tv contracts. its a content only deal for the channel to air content and nothing to do with VM in regards to if the channel stays on XL or goes subcription only.

I don't remember you raising this as an issue previously, and I certainly didn't say you can get HBO content on Virgin's VOD. Joining SKY, and keeping the Virgin services you want, are within your budget. I don't understand why you are robbing yourself of the content and channels you want. I've noticed the quality of the BBC News 24 channel completely slump... poor hosts who trip over their words and frequent technical errors on everything (poor editing, misuse of library photos, music coming in early or late, satellite feeds getting dropped even ones from within our own country).
