Have you read Ozsats post OB ?

I currently pay £9.99 and get 4 concurrent streams , part of one of the options was the 4 streams only being available in the top package hence a significant price increase.

I did miss that post, sorry! I was unaware the Netfix currently offered HDR with its UHD option.

This is a serious threat to Sky, Virgin, BT and Talk Talk, Amazon adding more channels to their site. But should the telcos embrace them or reject them?

I think they reject them at their peril. One way or the other, they will have to find an accommodation with them.

Some Amazon Prime customers are being offered 90 days free access to: Shudder, BFI, Discovery and MGM. Good for film fans.

In answer to my question, they haven't notified me but if i search the channels and then click 'Learn more' it's offering me the 3 months free. I may take it up as it says the offer runs out on the 17th July.

EDIT

I didn't see you'd replied Den, maybe i did but just deleted the email as i get quite a few from Amazon.

Did you take up the offer?

denphone 08-07-2018 16:52

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

No we did not take up the offer John.

I think i'll take the Discovery and Shudder trials.

I noticed Shudder has the Hammer House of Horror series from the '80's on it.

Yes, but it looks pretty tame these days.

I found 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' really dark and frightening, but when you look at it now it's more like a comedy show!

Amazon planning it's own TV set.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business...-sky-smart-tv/

I'm aware they have something similar in the US but they're looking at the UK market.
It'll be a Freeview set with built in Prime and Alexa.

I tried to find a non-subscription link but failed.

It also stated that they were doing this as they had failed to oust sky/BT from the EPL main rights.

Which was utterly predictable but not obviously to some who still have their head in the clouds thinking there is some brave new future with the TV channels not being at the heart of it..
