Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Anyone else having to regularly enter a passcode for cbeebies? Seems to regularly have no channel information on this one channel, resulting in a passcode request for content. It's cbeebies, if any channel never needs that it's this one. My kids watch it all the time, most used channel on the box - getting fed up having to keep enter the passcode when I turn the telly on!

Have you tried to re-boot the box and also connect to the VM service as well? To see if that will help you?

Quote:

Want to restart your box, or delete what’s stored?
To see Clear or Reset Set Top Box
Select Help & Settings on the Home screen.
Choose Clear or reset set top box.
Select Restart or Reset System.
Choose from the 4 options.
Restart the set top box

Shuts down your box, then starts it straight back up again. It won’t affect recordings, Series Links, WishList searches or Suggestions
Quote:

Your box regularly connects to our cable network to get updated programme listings, updates and other info. Here you can also see when your box last connected.
To see your network settings:
Select Help & Settings on the Home screen.
Choose Settings enter your PIN.
Select Network.
Choose from the available options.
Connect to the Virgin Media TV service now
Normally, you won’t need to choose this option as your box connects to the network automatically every few hours. But if you choose to connect manually you’ll be able to see the status of the connection. While your box is connecting, you can still watch live TV, set up recordings and search for shows.
Test connection
Test your connection and run other tests related to your network.
View network status
View details about your network connection.

The whole passcode requirement is a joke. I seem to have to enter a code for almost every programme, things like The Royal and Antiques Roadshow.

Now they just need to be platform neutral with the app, there's no reason why only iPad should get it and the PlayBook, TouchPad and the plethora of Android tablets not.
