Would be nice that , it sounds lke a whole home streaming option could be possible between TIVO and VHD boxes.

From the things that TiVo are doing at the moment it looks very possible?

I have a TiVo box! Just thought I'd let everyone know :D
It took a live demonstration to persuade me though. Well worth the money, in my eyes.

Yes it is light years ahead of their other boxes.

And we’d also like to have a good moan about the fact that BBC iPlayer programming is not available in the TV Guide in the same way that ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are

Thats because some of them on there do not do their homework fully.

I am afraid I just cancelled mine.

Just to many negatives on here and the questions regarding picture quality were a deal breaker. i am sure it will improve and I am sure also it is the way forward but for now I dont want to be a beta tester and pay for this.

I also dont see how a product can go to launch with so many bugs.

I am happy with my SA V+HD box that give a great HD picture and a very good SD picture so I will stick with it untill Tivo is sorted.

BTW I have a great deal of respect for those "testing" it out but realy Virgin shouldnt do this to paying customers.

This IS a discussion thread about the new Tivos. Some will be pleased, some won't but we aren't going to argue about it are we?

No just polite discussion and debate.

Sorry to hear that but I respect your decision. It is a shame that you didn't give it try. The TiVo is leading edge tech and as such will have issues but you will find that the vast majority of users are very happy with the box. I think the PQ issue is much exaggerated. My experience of SD quality is that it is just as good as the V+.

Come back some day soon!:)

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Hi

I am sure that when it works it is great and certainly the way forward. I am also sure that there are a lot of satisfied customers out there but the negatives being aired here just made me a little hesitant thats all.
My current set up works well gives me a great picture in SD and HD and never needs a re-boot (Ok once in a blue moon) and importantly I dont record a great deal so the HD size is not really an issue for me.
I will no doubt go for the Tivo at some stage but not quite yet.
regards

I got a TiVo for my bedroom and love it. One major benefit which was unexpected, is it's almost total silence. My old V+ box was very noisy.
