Seems fairly unambiguous to me....

Why don't you check with your 'high level'' contacts?

That is probably why the number of new TV customers has remained relatively low at 12000 over the last three months despite TiVo.

No, I was talking about new TV customers not adopters of TiVo, which is a different thing.;)

That's down to a decline in legacy free-TV subs. Virgin continues to enjoy strong pay tv uptake thanks to TiVo. A 50,600 increase in the quarter

Over 40% of TiVo gross adds in the quarter were new to Virgin Media TV.

An update on Al Jazeera Sport.

They are launching on 1 June in France under the name beIN Sport. A second channel will launch on 8 August. They will have live coverage of the French Ligue 1 football as well as La Liga. They will also cover Super League in France (Catalan Dragons).

There was a story in The Guardian a while back that ESPN were expecting Al Jazeera to bid for Premier League Football.

Al Jazeera's big push in France may not be the end of their sports broadcasting ambitions. They have deep pockets.

I'm sure your neighbours won't mind an intermittent loss of service.

Besides, you wouldn't get any more regional channels than you do already. They are only broadcast in the regions where they are required.

It was in the December 2010 presentation to investors.
"We are providing 300 standard definition channels, 30 HD channels at the moment, but with a path to grow to 80 HD channels over the next two years, or three years."

There should be over 60 HD channels by the time the Olympics start.
