6 miles up and down stairs and hills then an hour on UFC trainer for Kinnect.

Now absolutely knackered and eyeing up the wine rack to try and recover.

Signed up for a 16 mile race round the southside of Glasgow in October so need to get the mileage up for that and the Glasgow half marathon in September. If I can keep training on up till the end of October I might be able to stop the usual winter shutdown that ends up with pain in the New Year when I try to get back to the level of fitness I had the year before.

I feel like a lie down thinking about that ;)

I've signed up to do the Glasgow half marathon in September too. It's my first one so any advice or tips on training more than welcome.:D

Assuming you aren't in the first wave then you won't get to run at your own pace until you are over the Kingston Bridge so you get about 1 1/2 miles to get into it.

Aside from that its a nice course, a bit through Bellahouston and Pollok park and a bit of a slog between miles 10-12. No big hills so if you are doing a long run of 6-7 miles (10K) now then a long run adding a mile or so each week till 2 weeks before the race with either 2 or 3 shorter runs each week should see you through no problems.

Me :) I have been doing for 2 years now

I'm 181 CM tall ( Just under 6 foot)

Starting weight was 107 LB (around 7 stone) = BMI 13.5

As of today im at 141 LB (arround 10 stone) = BMI 19.3

Gained 34 lb between '09 and '11

Target is to get to 160 LB which would give me a BMI of 22

Only another 19 LB to go :D

Wow. That's some serious weight gain! At a starting BMI of 13.5 it sounds like you needed it. What have you been putting on (mostly), muscle or fat?

It sounds easy when you put it like that.:erm::D

10K is about my limit just now so I'll need get longer runs in the legs.

Thankyou! My weight was that low because i genuinely never feel hungry or thirsty, I have to consciously think to go for a meal or a drink not entirely sure why!

Most of the weight has been muscle (Not that i have much even still LOL) my fat percentage is around 10% I seem to struggle to gain fat weight

I know what you mean. At 1m75 I struggle to hit 60Kg. At least that puts me in the low normal BMI range, so I don't have to hit the gym. (Which strikes me as incredibly tedious and boring. I'd rather be out riding my bike) :).

Worst part is I have a dairy allergy. Pretty much everything high calorie has dairy in LOL

Some of the stuff I was eating when i was really trying to put on weight was ridiculous though average breakfast was something like a 'friend breakfast sandwich' as i called it which is 4 rashes of bacon, then 3 sausages cut in half on-top of the bacon fried egg sunny side down then fried garlic mushrooms on the top

Yuk! Two crackers with cheese and a glass of Grapefruit juice for me. (Plus a large coffee and a fag).

Back on track with my diet having fallen off the waggon several times. Only 12 weeks till my holiday, so that is my incentive.:)

I'm almost down to 13st 2lbs now...

I celebrated by having a lard sandwich, with chips, and low fat mayo. I am on a diet after all

Thanks for that London, I figure 1-2lbs per week should hopefully make quite a difference to my mobility in 12 weeks time.
