Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
My moan is we have an embankment round our garden which belongs to the council but we fenced it of because of dog fowling, which has been fine for 28 years, Now we have new neighbours (who are gypsies) and the three girls play football their and the ball goes in the garden, They swear back when they are told not to use a ball, the Rubbish they leave is A disgrace, But the council give them everything there house had to be fumigated , My nerves cannot take this anymore, The other neighbours are complaining to the council as we have 4 bought houses here and 2 council houses, Does anyone know how many signatures you need to get them out,
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Sorry to hear that Nash when phoning the council try and say one of my neighbours and not the (new neighbours who a gypsies as this could be seen as you don't want Gypsies beside you) focus on the what they a doing and not who they are.
Here is a link. I also suspect they will advice the mediation service which I also suspect your neighbours would decline. http://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/i...articleid=7929 ---------- Post added at 13:33 ---------- Previous post was at 13:30 ---------- Just filled out my hubby's redeployment form something I would rather not have done. Not the electronic prescription service is it den? My chemist won't do them until you go in for it and then you have to wait for them to make it up. Last time I had a go at them, said it shouldn't be left for the patient to come in for it before making it up.

I just think that these animals could be used for anything from being trained to fight or to be used as bait, plus there is no need to take such a risk with your pet if you can no longer keep it. There a places where you can take your pet free of charge dogs trust, Batttersea dog and cat home, Rspca etc
I was just shocked when I saw a advert for a (family pet 5 years old free to good home) as owner can no longer keep it for whatever reasons. I remember reading that a dog was found with it's mouth taped closed and legs tied after it's owner placed a similar add and the police suspected that this dog was used as bait to train fighting dogs :( |

Yip you a right although sad but true, but at least they die in a humane way. We got our dog from the SPCA and the only reason it took them so long to re-home him I think was simply the fact he was not fully house trained nor a pup but with love and understanding he got there, maybe I'm biased but he is the best dog anyone could ever want he is so loyal. I know this sounds crazy but I think he knows he was given a 2nd chance. All to many people want a cute little puppy or kitten and never give a older animal a chance to become a family pet. |

A. it's not enforceable in law, as its private property. B. my car, in 1st pulling itself along using torque goes 8/9MPH |

Going to a place where we do some work in the business park grounds of a stately home they have a 20mph limit. I stick to it but few do. Mind you a lot of people got letters stating stick to it or you're out and as they have a waiting list for buildings they're not gonna lose money |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Of whether the 5mph rule is justified or not is another matter. We have a 5mph limit on the roads in our campus, but the grounds of the campus (including those roads) are open to the public, so we have a *lot* of pedestrians walking up and down the roads (which are not all paved). In our case, I would say the 5mph rule *is* justified. |

She got married a few years ago to a man with a good job in IT. The happy couple moved to Dubai for a year, then moved back and had kids. Now, a couple of years later, they are getting divorced and he suddenly can't afford to pay maintenance, even though he can afford to buy a new house that is apparently considerably larger than the one he shared with my cousin. Still, I never did really like him. I only met him on their wedding day (which isn't a surprise, she lives 90 miles from me, and I can't drive, so I don't see her often), but he made no attempt to be remotely friendly to any of the family. |

I won't bother with the film, the roll is all mucked up now and even once I get some off, it's so clingy and static charged that it gets tangled up in itself before you can use it for anything, plus the numb nuts have put the cutting edge on the lid so there's never a "tail" of film to help you pull out the next length as there is when the cutter is on the bottom edge of the box. |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Thank you all kindly. Since the last op (5th Feb), I've somehow managed to lose about 90% movement of my right arm / shoulder which is in constant severe pain. Scans hasn't shown up anything so obviously stressed out to why. Hopefully the op will give some answers. Really struggling with the constant morphine, oxycodone, gabapentin, diazepam etc etc on top of it all.
Hom3r, that test sounds like something I had to go through not so long ago, they took some blood then added a small dose of radiation to it then injected it back in. Then they scan every couple of hours. It was a really long day that I can remember. Hope it goes okay. |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I have to make a very important choice in what type of dialysis I stay on. But not its a hard choice and I can't choose.
And despite what some (a) poster on here told me yes I do feel guilty about the money I'm costing the NHS. so this is a factor on my choice. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Don't worry what a certain stupid ignoramus thinks dilli as you have to do what is best for your health as the cost factor should not come into it especially if the more expensive treatment will work better for you with regards to your dialysis treatment.

I too could have taken the cheaper route and I know that I would not have been here to-day to make this post had I done so. Some people might say that the life of an elderly woman wasn't worth the thousands of pounds that I know I have cost the NHS this last few years but you know what? My family and friends don't agree. The cost of my medications and hospital treatments were very high but they kept me alive. I ran out of mainstream options last year and was offered a life line and the results of the US trial I have been luckily enough to get on have given other, younger, people more hope for a future. |

The answer to that is no I do not, what I do feel is extremely grateful and thankful that she has these choices IMO some people can be really thoughtless in what they say to someones situation and to those people I ignore thank goodness we can make these choices dilli. Your decision dilli and yours alone and to hell with those who don't agree with it that is my opinion. Good luck dilli and for the record I admire you in the tough decisions that you have made and still have to make. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
When it (the NHS) was launched by the then minister of health, Aneurin Bevan, on July 5 1948, it was based on three core principles:
that it meet the needs of everyone that it be free at the point of delivery that it be based on clinical need, not ability to pay So it doesn't matter if it's a 1p dose of paracetamol, or a very expensive treatment. You, as a citizen of the UK have the right to it, (N.I.C.E. notwithstanding) and don't let anyone say you aren't. If you have been given a choice of treatments, go with the one that suits you best, and don't even consider the cost. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Very minor moan, compared to others' predicaments.
Just spent the afternoon assembling a potting table for SWMBO - the wood was pre-cut, but I had to measure/drill 32 holes in the wood sections to screw it together (and as I am carp at DIY, I was pleasantly surprised when it all went together without wobbly legs at the end). |

Odd you should mention that but I recently saw a TV programme about unruly dogs and they filmed a woman driving along in her sports car with her huge, uncontrollable, dog leaping around all over the place. Frankly I think idiots like this should be banned from the roads.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I am amazed that people still let their dog bounce about the car. We have bars in our car to keep the dog at bay although sometimes I'm temped to put the kids there and the dog in the back seat :D
My moan is my very lovely and sometimes like today annoying sister, moaning about stuff that is beyond both our control she thinks I'm to easy going whereas I think she stresses and worries to much. My motto is why worry about things you can't control. |
