I'd be careful if I were you; talking to such camp people. Before you know it, you'll be enrolling in a Flower Arrangement night class, and then all your current mates will stop talking to you. Mark my words; it's the start of a slippery slope mixing with all the non sports fans on here.

The poster said that because all the big teams play in europe, that the 12.45 saturday slot will mean it's not usually them featured. But here is the fact. Saturday 12.45 games are not affected by the champions league only the Europa league. The only major team in that is Spurs, and they are on BT Sport a few times. Champions League is Tues/Wed, meaning they can play 3 or 4 days later. The Joint biggest draw (by that I mean draw, because we have the joint most fans and are also the most hated club so the most interest surrounds our fixtures, and we are on TV 9 times out of the first 13) Liverpool are not in europe, so we can play every week at 12.45.

So really no big teams are affected by this except spurs, and they are still on it 2 times in 3 months.

So please do not tell me I am wrong, when I'm not. i'm an expert in everything to do with football coverage, it's my life and my only major interest, and i am never wrong on any of it. cheers :):):p:
Only one of the Tottenham Bt matches is directly after a Europa league match day. I'm prepared to bet that they'll be at home on the Thursday.

Also, are you 100% sure about that? Playing at 12.45 after a Thursday Europa? With 36 hours rest? These matches are always moved to sunday. I am not a spurs follower but I do not think this is accurate, although on this ONE i may be wrong, but I highly doubt it.

That will be correct, any team that will play on a Thursday won't play on a Saturday, not ever. They'll be moved to Sunday, whether televised or not.

Quite a few times last year, Spurs who were in the Europa League, played on a Sunday but the game wasn't on Sky or ESPN.

The schedule may be set at the moment for a Saturday, but that may change (depending if the Europa League has started by the time of that fixture.)

I'm afraid this is highlighting one very disappointing fact - the epic failure of all bloggers to come into their element and to deliver what they are on these forums to do - produce hard and fast news straight from the source! This has to be the biggest news story coming soon from VM for ages and the info being leaked is nothing short of tabloid fairy tales!

Sorry to say that if bloggers can't get news on something this big utilising all their experience and insider knowledge - then what hope is there going forward. Will be just "personal opinions" from now on - which is really really poor showing.

Europa match day 4 is 28 th November. Spurs play Man U at home on Bt on the 30 th.

Soooooo... if you got that wrong is there perhaps just the slightest chance you've got other stuff wrong as well?

I highly suspect that somebody hasn't joined the dots on the Europa League fixture and the Premier League fixture...and the PL fixture will be moved.

As Pinju said, that is how the fixtures are listed now. But that will change once the Europa fixtures are drawn.

I am not wrong. Or at least I will eventually be proven not to be wrong.

Europa thursday night teams do not play at 12.45 on Saturday. this is a fact.

I know, I support liverpool, and we have been in that rubbish competition 3 or 4 times in the last 10 years or so.

On football broadcasting I am never wrong, ever. Sorry but this is what I do and I spend my life watching football.

Well, it's a confirmed fixture for Bt at 12.45 on the Saturday, so it either stays as it is or Bt lose their standout fixture from their first twelve that have been announced. Which would only serve to devalue the Bt Sport offering.

Bit disappointing today really. I thought we would have heard something but should have known better. VM is taking this one right to the wire. I just can't quite work out if that's good or bad!

BT will move the fixture to a different time. Probably Monday night or if there is a slot free on the sunday.

This is common in football. At the start, every single match is listed 3pm Saturday and a couple of midweeks etc. But it changes.

problem is when people are spouting bollox i have to reply to correct them :(

ie: fans from teams in The Championship for the last decade who say teams that play in Europa league on a thursday night will then play at 12.45 on a saturday. and announce that i am wrong when i'm not. this isn't true. it won't happen, so i have to reply. vicious cycle.

Yes it can, and will. They've won the rights to the match not the just the timeslot. Providing a timeslot is free which isn't clashing with a Sky game they can show it on saturday, sunday or monday night. end of.

Any fan of a Premier League team knows that matches are constantly shifted about. I guess you wouldn't know much about this stuff. but hey ho, welcome to the bigtime.

They can't show any on Friday night or Sunday, they have a certain number of Saturday 12.45 kick offs and a certain number of Monday/midweek matches. The Premier League rights are split in to various packs, and these dictate the weekday and kick off times that broadcasters are allowed to move matches to. If Spurs can't play at 1245 on Saturday 30th November then BT can't show the Spurs game that weekend, at all.

And yes, I am well aware that Premier League matches are regularly shifted - it's one of the many reasons I wish Palace weren't in it! Mod Edit: fans of so called big clubs is another ;)

To be honest I couldn't care less about watching a bunch of over paid prima donna's dancing around a field looking ready to burst into tears if the get there hair messed up or their boots dirty.

So not fussed if it's not on xl make it a premium add on the same as the rest of the sports channel, it will give everyone the flexability to watch what ever spot they want to, rather watch some real sport where the player can set a good example for kids.

Never said they could play on a friday, did I.

Spurs will not play on the saturday, after playing Thursday in the europa. with 36 hours rest. It will not happen. I can think of one instance something like this happened and it was Chelsea playing the FA Cup semi final vs spurs 2 days before a CL game. And this was a one off situation due to us not being able to play on a specific date.

There is no precedence to the situation you are suggesting will happen, you will wind up seeing that i am right.

Mod Edit: fans of so called big teams eh. Yes my so called big team which has won the European Cup 5 times, the league 18 times, packs 95,000 into a stadium in Indonesia for a friendly, and is on telly 9 times in the first 13 games. :p:

I seem to remember last season that ESPN matches that contained a Europa league team where moved from the 5:30 Saturday slot to Sunday at 12:30.

Couldn't agree more, I've just wasted a good chunk of my life that I'll never get back reading all the drivel. I did like the idea of a 24 channel. I find being called a camp. pop music loving, flower loving gardener offensive.

The person who runs the site tweeted me and said that it's not that they don't like anyone of us in particular, it's just bemusement at the rumours that admittedly we do mostly take as fact after a while! I think that's definitely something I'm keeping in mind after this whole BT Sport debacle. :)

Yet, your willing to pay a small fortune to watch a group of mainly uneducated men kick a bag of air around and cheer wildly at a load of yobish behaviour, never understood the idolisation of men be 'real' men. Not sure I'd class a website reporting on a rumours thread 'real' reporting, read just like an opinion sprinkled with a few facts. Pretty much just like most that's on most forums.

As for this thread everyone is voicing their opinion on the matter and we will find out when if anything is agreed. Lots of opinion and very few facts and most of these are off topic.

I'd like for ESPN to carry on being free on xl but it is not then I'll take a look at the cost and decide if it's worth the money for what i would want to watch.

I have to say I'm actually surprised how much speculation there is about basically no news.... It's like when Kate went into labour; a 45 word statement turned into twelve hours of news coverage. Oh dear. With all the insults flying from you recently, are you sure you are educated ?

I remember listening once to Talk Radio where a listener called in and said that only thick people could be train drivers as that particular job required no thought, so uneducated people were ideal for it.

Naturally he was cut off part way through, and like that call, I find your comment that "and only dim witted people with no education should be lifting boxes" highly offensive, as I am sure a great many others will be when they read it.

Moving on, we keep listening to rumours regarding Lovefilm and Netflix coming to Tivo - if true, I would imagine it would just be an app, but how many of us would take them up on a deal ?

I've got a degree and work in a job which uses my degree... But if I needed to lift boxes to earn money then I would.... Nothing is beneath me when it comes to feeding my family. I'm sure lots of people would agree.
