Re: The Xbox One Thread
A refreshed Xbox One Controller is coming, this one will have a standard 3.5mm headset jack, not sure if anything else changes.
http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-o...ess-controller http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/28/86...headphone-jack |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Looks like someone at MS updated that support page prematurely - all mention of the new one with the 3.5mm socket has gone now.
Still, it'd be good to have one that doesn't need the adaptor. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I wonder if there will be changes to the console itself, maybe a bigger internal drive?

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Is everyone that went 100% digital still all digital?
The price of older games on disk is far cheaper now, so unsure whether to change or not. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I'm still buying newer games digitally but where I can get them really cheap I buy older games on disc.
My local independant store is so cheap for used games. Got GTA for £32 and Watchdogs for £10 and Farcry 3 for £15 recently. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Bought all my games so far on disc, I find the digital version is more expensive than the disc version.

Would love it to be Battlefield Hardline but it maybe the Dragon Age: Inquisition according to rumours as Titanfall was said to never go on it. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I'm still all digital. Will keep an eye on cdkeys.com though for cheap deals :)
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I buy all my games on disc.
The exception is the free games that Gold give. Plus I bought Minecraft on digital as it was only 99p |

Me too, the only exception is for the episodic Telltale games and PC games on Steam sales or in Humble bundles. But I don't ever spend more than £9.99 on a digial game. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
If anyone collects Tesco Club card vouchers you can currently double them up in value and use on console games, so for every £5 voucher they give you £10!
Sounds like a good deal to me. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Does the One do demos for games? I want to play the new F1 game due out in July but don't want to fork out for it unless I know I am going to like it and will play it. Might look at STEAM to see if they do a demo for the PC version.

There are some demos but not a lot.
Think Ride was the last demo out. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Titanfall appears to be available for EA Access members now. Not showing in hub but looks like it can be downloaded for free via store. I already have it so can't verify.

New job starting in 2 weeks. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Noticed I can't see any of my already purchased games and on the xbox.com/status page shows there are issues just now. Must be the GOW beta thing and backwards compatibility that everyone is trying to get on.

Anyone tried the streaming to Windows 10 yet? |

Not tried it, not really sure what to expect and as PC is in same room I don't need it.
Has anyone tried any Xbox 360 games on the X1 as I tried Toy Solders and it plays perfect, just need the disk based games to work!? |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
It looks nice, but it's too expensive and I'd be unlikely to make any use of the customisation.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Same here.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
It's the customization that is the reason for the price. Mainly for pro gamers I'd think.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
To be honest, the original Xbox One controller just feels 'cheap' when compared with the 360 one and the thumbsticks are too small.
For £130 I'd hope this new one is a lot better made, let alone all of its gadgets |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I've been using the Titanfall Xbox One controller ever since it was released. Much better quality (IMO) than the "Day One" edition controller.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I personally think the X1 controller feels a lot better than the 360 controller and a much better feel.
Been using X1 to Win 10 streaming again tonight. Works great for me and no problems at all. I think you are supposed to have an xbox controller connected to Win 10 as I get asked everytime I start streaming to connect one. However just continuing I can still use the controller sync'd to the X1. Probably should try it out though as will maybe work better if I go out of range of the X1. Tried to Gears Ultimate beta today. Looks and feels a lot smoother. |

It really is a great deal and also they may end up adding some of their 360 games to the vault which would be brilliant. |

I bet I bloody end up buying it :erm: :D
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
£100+ for a controller no chance I pay that
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I bet the price drops alot 6 months after release.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I'll definitely be buying it :)
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I have quite a bit saved on my Game rerward card so may end up putting it towards that controller.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I doubt I'll buy it as I have destroyed several controllers after playing certain games online.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I'll wait until next year when the price drops to around £50 because no can possibly be stupid enough to pay £130 for a gamepad, surely? :D
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Microsoft have seen a niche in the market , people have been buying scuff game pads for ages and the decent pads start at £114 before even customising them. At least 4 people on my friends list have the scuff pads and say they make a huge difference, when you compare the ms pad with the scuff pad with all the extra paddles and thumb sticks it looks like pretty good value to me. I spent £120 on a fragfx shark pro when I played on the 360 and it was really really good , being able to remap buttons on the new ms controller already had me sold :)
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Its at ten on Amazon's top pre orders since E3
So there must be a lot of folk wanting it. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
With EA Access, aren't you supposed to lose access to any games that you installed when your subscription ends?
Because mine ended Monday and I can still play Titanfall and Fifa 15 :/ |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Quote:
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I only have those two installed
If I just say "Xbox, go to Titanfall/Fifa 15" the game boots up and I can play. I don't have auto renew on, haven't been charged and I received the cancellation email. I'm not complaining though, I'll just keep playing those games until they realise and switch off access. :D I'm going to renew for the year though when my Gold expires in a couple of months anyway |

I'll probably get FIFA for Christmas, the game I want most is the new F1 game. Videos on YouTube look amazing, and I missed out on the last game as they scrapped plans to release it for the One.

...and it's gone. Maybe they gave subscribers an extra few days because access was free during E3? And yeah, it's totally worth it. Gold from CDkeys and EA Access for £19.99 is pretty much the total retail price for a years Gold alone. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
If you like them on Facebook it's even cheaper... You can also get your credit for EA Access off there and save more. It's not much more but it's a saving.

The last main update was for backwards compatibility so if you're upto date then if you go to My Games and Apps, you may see some of your 360 games ready to install.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I was also wondering if it was worth buying cheap 360 games in the hope they will work great on the X1.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Right now I wouldn't do that cause not many games have been added.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Not planning to yet, I hope they do the games with gold.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Buy understanding with backward compatibility is that the top games will be done first, then what the most people ask for.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
That is more than likely the case, however as it doesn't officially launch till never the end of the year by which time there will be 100 titles in BC. Right now it is just a test/trial so there are only 25 titles.
I imagine there will be more added to the trial before the official launch. |

Does anyone know if it will be possible to play 'World of Tanks' in split screen (2 local people) either in a local game or in a xbox live multiplayer game?

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Does anyone else suffer painfully slow Xbox One downloads despite having super-badass fibre broadband?
Someone on the Elite forums posted the following tip, due to ED's CQC update being really bloody slow: Change your Xbox One's DNS to Google's Public DNS! https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/?hl=en Go to Settings > Network > DNS, and set manual DNS entries of 8.8.8.8 for the primary and 8.8.4.4 for the secondary. Then go to Alternate Mac Address > Clear and let the console reboot. Afterward, you should hopefully find that your download speeds are more like they should be. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I wouldn't say mega slow, but I will try that and see if it gets faster.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread

I can't change my DNS as already done that for using Netflix USA. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yeah the downloading is not too bad, it is the installing or applying of updates that annoys me the most.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I read for disc installs we should disconnect from Xbox Live while installing, but not sure if it is possible to install digital games quicker.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
My XBOne is using OpenDS, and so far downloads have been fine, installing on the other hand......
