Flowers

Just sent flowers to Mother in Law as sadly my Father in Law passed away last Wednesday very upsetting time for all the family. My eldest is really struggling atm. Hubby is very quiet and needing plenty of space for his thoughts although it was not unexpected it was sudden the day before on the Tuesday he was having such a good day then on Wednesday well you know :( the wee one just can't believe it and keeps asking why and what happened as when we all visited last Sunday he was fine. Sometimes there are no answers to explain to someone who is young and this is his first experience of death of a close family member.

So sad for you all Weenie, very hard to except and tell the wee ones what life is all about, My thoughts go out to you all, Take Care,

Re: What have you just bought?

Thanks nash it is very difficult to explain especially when the wee one was laughing and joking with his Grandad just last Sunday. His Aunt (hubby's sister) keeps making unnecessary nasty comments towards myself which has not went unnoticed with the family and my boy's but now is not the time to say anything as she is also grieving for the loss of her father. I would have thought that she would have had more respect in regards to the situation but no still her usual stuff spouting out her mouth which added more distress to both myself and my children and I decided to do my usual and ignore her which I think is the best option but maybe next month it will be needed to say something as her comments are hurtful to my boy's. I will just need to wait and see if she continues to upset them then that's a no no in my book do and say what you want to me but please don't upset my children, but right now my focus is on my hubby and children and making sure my Mother in Law is supported at this sad time, 59 years they were married it's a long time but no time is good to lose your partner whatever your age or time spent together.

Re: What have you just bought?

Hi Weenie. Terrible when you have a loudmouth and trouble maker in the family. Your day will come when you can say How you feel, as you say your children come first and you do not like them getting hurt. Bid your time and you will know exactly what to say to shut her up, Take Care

weenie 23-04-2016 16:38

Re: What have you just bought?

Thanks nash I will more than likely say if you have no respect for me or yourself then please have some for your brother you know my husband as it's him you hurt not me as you mean nothing to me so please put your brain in gear before your mouth next time you speak to me. I admit I have been tempted to say this in the past and I know it's going to be said to her soon and she will be shocked as usually I smile and walk away she see's this as weakness whereas I see this as strength but enough is enough now. Naturally this will not be said to her in the near future but it will be said I suspect in the summer months when we get together for family bbq at each others. I will just make sure it's said at mine.

Their is always one in every family I suppose.

Just bought the wee one a new blue shirt & blue chino's for the funeral as his Grandad requested for the family not to wear black and celebrate his life and not be sad as he had a good life.

Of course nash I have had 30+ years of preparation and rehearsed it many times over the years in my head. My other sister in law (who also has been on the receiving end of her tongue) said that hubby's sister could cause a fight in a empty room well the trouble with that is now she just may receive echo from wee quiet weenie who usually wouldn't say boo to a goose.

Similar price to Amazon, but the Argos one gives you a suction mount rather than the Stick on mount.

New phones.

My old BT Graphite phones have now been replaced after one handset has finally gave up after many years of use. I can't believe just how much cordless phones have came down in price. I think today I got an absolute bargain. £79.99 reduced to £27.99 saving of £52.00 :D and the reviews look good to.

A dual channel amplifier module (Tektronix 5A48) for a storage oscilloscope (5441 mainframe) that I got gratis because "nobody knows how to use it". It only had one dual amplifier module when I got it and I've been on the lookout for another to be able to use all 4 traces.

This is from the States and is untested but looks in good order visually. I have the service manual for it so if there's a fault I aught to be able to fix it. These things are really built to last, gold plated everything.

Don't waste money buying the special embossed bags - any decent plastic food bags can be used by simply inserting a small section of drinking straw across the line of the seal to facilitate evacuation. I've been doing it for ages and saved £££'s :)

Re: What have you just bought?

A spare LCD monitor for £8 from charity shop - not perfect, but good enough to be a setup spare - doing a new machine and transfer for a friend (that already had to replace a failed monitor) and I really didn't want to risk breaking my decent second monitor carting it around in the car.

Condition: some screen marks, and has odd bug that it's "out of range" on BIOS screen - good thing I don't need to tinker with that at the moment!
I've seen that before with some LCDs.

Also, DVD-RW drive (again £8) - box said Philips - inside was a slightly older (and non-lightscribe) Liteon 1635S - still an interesting drive as it's disc scanning capabilities are far superior to my main drive (a lightscribe capable Samsung, TBH, kicking myself for not splashing a few quid extra on a Liteon at the time I got that, but the Sammy was the cheapest lightscribe).

1635S now has latest experimental (modified 6S speed profile) firmware on it, ready to take second slot in my case (which I half reserved for another drive, a Philips/BENQ DVD8881 that I had high hopes for, but was the one Philips/BENQ that lacks their amazing disk testing capabilities, so that drive would not have added anything.

The "5S" series drive is also superior to the drive I was considerin retrieving from an old system, which was a "3S" series

A new hose for our Dyson DC27. I'd patched up the old one a few times but it kept splitting so I bought a really nice compatible one which appears identical for £14. I'll keep the old hose, cut out the damaged section entirely, remove the nozzle fitting and fit a universal adaptor to serve as a dust extractor for my various power tools.

I tried rimless from ASDA, and could not get on with them as the bridge attachments were almost directly in my line of sight. :dozey:

I just bought the Samsung Gear S2 Classic, extra charger, screen protector & metal strap.

I was in the Samsung shop yesterday and nearly bought the S2 but they only had the white one, and walked away to think.

Well the classic supports standard watch straps, which comes with a leather strap.

Can't wait for it to be delivered tomorrow at work.

Didn't want to temp fate having found the car we wanted , although we bought it some time ago, we picked it up yesterday and I can now say John and I bought a new car at a huge discount. Vey happy but now I'm trying to pick up the courage to let it parallel park itself. :Yikes:

Parents car parks itself, they tried it once and never bothered with that feature again, not sure why, maybe it is trust or too slow?

I have now tried it but I doubt that it will be something I do often as it totally unnerved me. We have front and rear sensors with a rear view camera that came in the same package and these are far more useful. The rear view camera has already got me safely out of very tight carpark that I usually avoid like the plague when there are delivery vans narrowing down the manoeuvring options. On the minus side the sensors do not like me reversing onto our drive, the car positively has a tantrum, I get flashing red lights and warning bleeps the whole time I reverse through our gates, between our boundry fence and a privacy wall and a couple of Yew trees. At least John only closes his eyes and prays. :D
