That site is aimed at sports broadcast on UK TV channels. It's my main source of information when it comes to finding out what's on when.

Wedding TV is very good at first, but gradually there's a wearing down process, and kids TV and mortgage TV take up more of your time.

Eventually there tends to be a drift towards mistress TV which can screen some first runs but can also lead to increased numbers for viewing Divorce TV.

There is apparently a channel coming soon called perpetual bliss but it's participation audience is expected to be extremely low. :D:D

Down here in Brighton we currently have no channel on 531, the only change we have is on channel 530 which is calling itself MUTV Slate, no picture though, and 528 which now appears to be the new MUTV channel.
Does anybody know what MUFC Slate is?

Media Boy EXCLUSIVE: Things to look out for this week.

Virgin Media may give us some news on Racing UK, Arsenal TV and Liverpool FC TV some time this week.

I think Racing UK and Liverpool FC TV will be removed from the XL Pack and be relaunch as Two Standalone channels.

Arsenal look set to axe their TV Channel and go Web Only when Setanta Sports UK sell Arsenal TV's Sky EPG Channel.

Also Virgin Media will be announcing their Second Quarter 2009 results on Thursday at 8am UK time.

oh why can't someone pick up the Blue Square Premier rights? I read that towards the end of the season, Setanta were getting nearly as many viewers to that than they did for SPL, so would have thought someone would have picked it up. Possibly ITV4 or Channel 5, if no ESPN.

All ESPN and MUTV working here since I woke up at about 6:30 (well with no V+ Box I can't watch HD but the channel is there albeit greyed out).

My advice to those still missing some or all of the new channels is to power your Set-Top-Box off. Go out for a walk and sit in the sun for at least two hours then power the box back on again. :)

Just don't all do it at once or you'll absorb what little sun there is and there won't be enough solar bandwidth to go around.

Strange, ESPN America is working fine (been watching baseball all morning), ESPN just has a title screen saying it'll launch at 8pm, with ESPN Classic merely saying "ESPN Channels coming soon!", which is annoying as I planned on watching old Albion vs Newcastle highlights (on now).

Best way to check is press "Home" on your remote then "Settings" (option 8), then "Change display & audio settings" (option 4).Check what it says for "TV display format" (second one down on the list).

With the revamping of the TV side of things which as far as i can see the customer across the board is going to benefit from i.e. the HD , the ESPN deal, and now this announcement of an Asian deal.

Does anyone else feel that Virgin feel they must be about to save a chunk of change in the way they do business with Sky for their channels.

I mean how are Virgin going to claw back the money they must surely have committed to finance these deals ?

Or is it just a case of making the top TV package XL that much better value and hope that the numbers taking it rocket.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

ESPN Classic is now broadcasting.

ESPN HD still has no EPG data, just says 'No programme information'.

If the news about the Asian channels is true, then the XL just keeps going from strength to strength. This will give Sky some serious competition, as the price of Asian channels on Virgin was always too high.

You need to ring up customers services like it says on the message. Sounds like a fault or an issue with your account.

Whether your using your v+ box with a HDMI lead or not wouldn't stop you accessing the channels.

Hope that helps

You need to ring up customers services like it says on the message. Sounds like a fault or an issue with your account.

Whether your using your v+ box with a HDMI lead or not wouldn't stop you accessing the channels.

Hope that helps

Tried that but they keep telling me that the channels aren't live yet, but I know fine well they are :td:

ESPN HD still has no EPG data, just says 'No programme information'.

If the news about the Asian channels is true, then the XL just keeps going from strength to strength. This will give Sky some serious competition, as the price of Asian channels on Virgin was always too high.

ESPN Classic is not broadcasting on Ex-Telewest - yet.

Very strange!
Try reporting the fault through the newsgroup, they are very helpful on there.

As EBD said, v+ does not need to be in HDMI mode. I am using my old 28" CRT and can access all HD channels abeit in SD mode.

If ringing CS is not working for you (I cant quite believe they keep telling you they havent launched, so think you have only rung once or twice) try getting it sorted through the newsgroups ;)

The prices of Asian channels Virgin have were about the same on Sky if you subscribe individually though the £24 deal for all the channels on Virgin was still a good deal.

It will definately give some serious competition to Sky as they only offer the Star pack of channels in their top package where as Virgin will offer all the Asian channels they have in their top package.

I have been told that Virgin Media has got plans in the wind to axe The Asian Package and will be inclusive with the XL package over the next few months.

But here is the right information:

Virgin is considering getting the asian package (£24) inclusively on XL package without any extra charges.

And will join over the next few months if Virgin goes ahead with it.

Media Boy: Sorry for not giving out the right information the first time I mis-read it.

Same problem as I'm getting, except for me it happens on all the HD channels and not on ESPN SD.

I really hope so as I was looking at the asian channels yesterday as the wife like to watch Zee and she expressed a interest in the £24 package.

ESPN and ESPN America will be available for free to all customers during August.

ESPN HD will be available for free to all V+ HD customers during August.

ESPN HD has just launch (With EPG) in Ex-Telewest areas.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Well that completes the line up for the time being... what a week Virgin TV customers have had.

This time last week we were not expecting ESPN HD, ESPN America to close, the new ESPN channel to cost about £10 a month and all thought that once again customers were going to be left out in the cold... and now we have the full package included in the subscription!

We also now have six HD channels (a 600% increase in HD channels*) and Living TV still to come!

* it's amazing how great statistics can make a statement sound!
