Given Wigan's appalling bad luck with decisions this season and as they are a local Lancashire team I am glad they won. Their recent performances have deserved much better reward than they have received.

Jim.

5' 10" was from the live BBC feed, subsequently:

Now that's more like the Fergie time we know & hate... ;)

Ooops, a 'rare' BBC mistake! Guess 5' 10" was correct...

Just watched the highlights from the Madrid derby tonight. Cristiano Ronaldo is an amazing player...£80 million was an absoloute bargain.

I ask this question every year but why do Wigan play so terrible all season and then turn amazing at the end of the season?

Damien Comolli has packed his bags and taken his moneyballs back to France. Wonder why

Awful, awful awful performance. No team has played consistently like champions all season.

We've only ended up at the top due to chance and decisions going our way. I've said this before and I'll say it again, if we played a properly quality team like Barcelona we'd get slaughtered in a footballing masterclass. SAF needs to pull some sort of rabbit our of his hat quickly. If City can sign a team instead of 11 individuals ready for next season they'll leave us FAR behind.

5 points clear? We can blow that easily.

I hate the guy for some reason, a complete waste of space but i would not use him as a scapegoat if I were Liverpool. Theres major issues within Liverpool that need sorting out for the club to move forward and its not all to do with the squad. The mind frame, this us against you crap is holding the club back. Supporting a player such as Suarez is all very good but the club officials have stepped over line and now are lost in their own ways.

I don't think he'll be the only one walking the plank. He was undoubtedly going anyway but this is most likely a strategically released decision to divert attention from the team in the current run of poor form. Gives the snouts in the press something else to jibber-jabber and speculate about in the run-up to the semi.
