Gamble well worth taking if his goals keep them up.

I don't think so, they've weakened one of their rivals who also sold their best player, have a get out clause if they go down and secured a top class striker with the ability to keep them up. No gamble at all imo and good to see they're not just going to lay down and accept relegation, if done of those players showed the same fight they wouldn't even be down there.

The clause still means the £8 million or so is paid as well as the additional wages. Considering they look to have a good chance of the drop then that is a lot of money if they then drop out the Premier League. It's a gamble and a risky one to lose, they wouldn't the first club to over extend themselves.

Isn't it this season the amount of money they will receive for staying up goes up massively? So staying up is more important than ever, if signing him helps towards that it will be well worth it.

Indeed Leeds , Portsmouth and many others have paid the price for over extending themselves.

eight million isn't much of a gamble when TV revenues are going up 71% & I think they'll be fine, put a bet on for them to stay up the day Harry was appointed.

Neither of them had a billionaire owner and in Leeds case they wee banking on champions league qualification not simply staying up.

TV Revenues only going up if you're in the league next year. Like I said it's high-risk, high-rewards. If they stay up it's an excellent signing. If they go down then they don't have that money and have spent a lot this season.
