no worries Scopeuk i have my flame retarded suit on, lol

what i saying is that it seems that the majority of people that have been warned and downgraded are 3meg users only (maybe becasue they are the ones to obtain 10meg first), yet there is plenty of 1 meg and 2 meg users who are also going over the limit by large amounts yet it seems they are not being targeted so much yet pay far less.

So what i'm saying is for example , if i download 125gigs and get a letter and downgraded to 512k for being naughty whilst paying for the top teir, whats stopping me from going on 1meg download 125gigs and not get a letter and save some cash.

and yes why are 2meg users on the same cap as 3meg users, orginally 3meg users was going to be 45gigs if i remember. Anyway time will tell, maybe they get round to warning 1/2meg users when the upgrades for them start next year and leave us 3meg/10meg users alone who pay more.

well i think as long as you dont go mad then ntl cant do much, i would say the caps are more of a guide line than anything

Re: *ALL* ntl Cap Discussion (Part 3)

well its a guideline we shouldnt have,we pay as much as people using other isp's.NTL are over charging right now for what they offer on capacity and speeds (I truely hope if their planned unlimited packages come they are worthwhile, isnt it shocking theyre now going to offer unlimited at cost how it doesnt affect other peoples speeds)

From the looks of it theyre only happy with people signing with fast connections who dont actually use them for more than surfing (personaly I feel short changed I never got 2mb even though I was paying for it for months, even though I was more than happy 4-5 months back when I was 750k uncapped being upgradded to 1.5mb now dropped down to 512k as kinda left me feeling down about all the people Ive told that ntl where good for value).

Sure we have a right to go elsewhere which its sounding like people are doing if you read the 10's of 1000s against caps on certain petition sites that are up and I'm sure once people wise up about the net they wont sign up knowing if they go over a certain rate they'll drop down to 512k.I'm tied with them till end of the football season ends then unless they change their greedy ways I'll take my whole package elsewhere.Ive allways wanted sky digitals fanzone and proper football interactive use which NTL dont carry cause theyre cheap skates, makes me laugh to think that theyre trying to buy some of the up for grabs football rights too that'll be even more cost for the customer if NTLsports launches alongside skys sports.

Yeah, people are leaving in droves over that cap... since it was 'introduced' in 2003, the bb customer figures have dropped sometyhing awful...... Oh, wait a minute, no they haven't - they've increased quarter upon quarter...

Oh, so you know that the reason ntl don't carry the interactive you require is because they're cheapskates? Well done you. :dunce:

Grabbing the footbal rights will stop skys monopoly and probably do all the football fans wallets a favour, so think on. :dozey:

And hopefully if Sky buy a broadband company, who knows eh? :D

Re: *ALL* ntl Cap Discussion (Part 3)

Judging by Sky's past record, and Ntl's past record, i very much doubt Sky have anything to worry about. I don't think i've ever seen an ntl TV customer truly happy with the service, ever. It'll be interesting to see how they handle Broadband, it might really shake things up in the UK, not just ntl.

Why should sky do it any different to any other ISP?

Hmmm, bending (if not outright breaking of rules), rampant disregard for customers (you WILL be upgraded to digital)
Yep Sky have a fantastic past record!

I was. :erm: And that was before I started working for them. After that things changed a little bit ;)

While I agree with you by and large, this I don't. Unless they are required not to by the contract they will compete which means that you will have to have access to more than one provider. It's unlikely that this will be cheaper than the Sky bundle unless Sky themselves manipulate the price down.

Even if they do BB it will be beyond my ability to afford it.

This is what I am hoping, sky have a reputation to protect. NTL umm.. well they known for value for money not for quality in other words the budget option.

Re: *ALL* ntl Cap Discussion (Part 3)

hey orange bird maybe ntl's share as risen in the past since 2003 but untill today theyve never done anything about capping (i'm kinda shocked theyve done anything this time as before it all got forgotten about for at least a year) sure we got the odd letter most of us rightly threw away the minute we had read them. But as of today and them speed degrading users down to 512k.We'll see people leave in droves and the new sign ups are sure to drop. All this woulda been so much easier if they had brought the speed increases out capped and left people at 750k or below as they was unless they wanted speed over capacity.Which is basicly what NTL have done now only with alot of fuss.

Like ive said before you go advertise these current packages like Bulldog are doing with their current glossy b&w advert for their nice 8mb unlimited service which played during the champions league game.NTL still sell their packages mostly door2door or via the phone which gives them more scope to keep the actual rolling tc's and capped package rules silent.Where is their nice glossy 512k unlimited advert :D like the ones AOL or Bulldog have.

Maybe your right on the other issues and I agree with you I dont like monopolys on football rights. But surely NTL would just become another expense for football fans pockets by charging what they own the rights too.Youve gotta be honest its doubtfull other than live games being screened on terrestrial tv fans would have to pay towards more than one set of channels.

Ohh and I noticed you didnt make a comment on the 1st part of what I said, you may as well do the whole thing instead of just the bits that are easier to pull apart or add spin towards

[QUOTE=orangebird]Cos you've met all of them, haven't you.......

I realise you work for ntl, and you feel it's your duty to protect them no matter what, but there's no need to reduce my argument to a childish retort. You'd think a company the size of ntl would be full of customers who are very happy with the TV service, which would even things out as to word of mouth, but from everyone i've heard from, both online, and people in my personal life, i haven't heard one person say they are happy with the service.

On the other hand, I know lots of people unhappy with the Sky service, but at the same time i know a lot of people (including myself) who can't praise them enough, it evens out. Same with BT, and most other companies.
