How about less of the petty arguments about "free".

I'm still waiting to see a post confirming the new upload speeds, so how about posting some useful information instead of being bloody pedantic.

Seems to suggest

70 mbps down 5 mbps up
150 mbps down 10 mbps up
200 mbps down 12 mbps up

EDIT: Just seen your other post above. Nothing serious I trust, give our best to your wife. Hospital veteran here who knows how rough it can be!

Reason i have been away from the forum, she suffered a triple DVT in her left leg in June and has only now been given a small all clear, but is waiting on a arterial bypass.

Sorry to hear. Some things are more important than broadband speeds.... Not many, granted ;) but some. Health and family are two such things. All the best.

Yes I do, however, until now, no one has said its not public knowledge either.

From the link above (Unofficial I guess) ;

Quote:

Old Speed: 50Mbps [3Mbps Upload]
New Speed: 70Mbps [5Mbps Upload]

Old Speed: 100Mbps [6Mbps Upload]
New Speed: 150Mbps [10Mbps Upload]

Old Speed: 152Mbps [12Mbps Upload]
New Speed: 200Mbps [12Mbps Upload]

If this is really the case, I'll be downgrading, since my 152 only runs at 100 atm anyway (due to my network, not VM) and I'm not getting an upload boost.

Same here i don't use the full potential of what i have now so a downgrade and then free or what ever it is upgrade as part of the tier changes will save me money.

IF that is final then the middle tier and only the middle tier looks enticing unless you're a casual user.

the yearly increases happen do they not with or without upgrades?

Re: Virgin Media 70, 150 & 200 Mb Upgrades

I think theres a feeling that the difference between 150 and 200 doesnt really justify a different tier anymore.

150mb is very enticing now, seems a bit of an oversight.

Downgrading to 100mb seems like it was the right move after all, pretty tame upgrade but then again its only an extra £20 a year
