Yup, as I stated in my last post, all subjects that veer away from what is confirmed as launching by VM should have their own threads then, not just the stuff you find boring. Many people accept this thread for what it is, and you have not moaned about VPN or DNS being mentioned many times previously. So why bring it up now, guilty conscience?!?

Yeah pretty much, that's how forums work. Different threads to discuss different topics, which actually this subject I find interesting but don't want to derail the thread for pages discussing it.
Obviously things will get mentioned which dont relate to the topic, but when those then go on for a few pages it's too much
Guilty conscience??

The android app is not coming to VM TV though is it? It is a companion app for android devices and it certainly won't be an app on TIVO either, what would be the point. It will be used generally when people are away from their TV and their TIVO box(es).

Yes it's a companion app that can let you control your VM TV service away or at home. Stuff like manage series links, set recordings etc all related to TV services.
Of course its not going to be on TiVo as an app, why would you think that? And its not just for TiVo users!

If the mods are happy with the discussions why challenge them? As is frequently said, if you do not like the thread, check out the changelog.

As is frequently said, the changelog is just that, a log of changes. I thought this thread was to discuss what is coming soon to VM TV and id hope the moderators would stick to this as best as possible. It was just last week one asked to keep things on topic.

Going back to what actually is "coming soon on Virgin TV" is Banshee. Superblade has pointed out that it will be shown on Sky One from the 2nd December. His post is in the "whats on virgin TV" thread.

Which is the best place to discuss such things no?

Am not going to say anything else about it, as I realise the irony about moaning about going too far off topic and if the mods want to delete this feel free but it would be handy to know what is and isnt allowed on this thread.

Night!

But other people may find the other topics interesting, though. Just because you do not does not mean it should not be allowed to develop. Other posters can ignore the separate discussion, and continue to post about what is rumoured to be coming to VM TV. I really fail to see the problem with the thread the way it is.

Yup, it's a good idea to let it go. The last couple of things I will say are that you are more than welcome to set up a thread for "day-to-day chit chat" or some such title, to try and take the emphasis away from the derailing of this thread. Finally, seeing as you wish this thread to stay on topic perhaps you will be able to give us some confirmed of what is coming to VM TV soon. I am not trying to be awkward, just simply highlighting how difficult it is to discuss what is actually coming to VM TV.

Blimey! That was an interesting couple of pages to catch up on!

With regards Banshee I'm intrigued by this, and I wish if it has any significance. There is generally much speculation when a new Atlantic show is trailed and the advert either does our does not say "exclusive to Sky" or similar. I don't suppose anybody can remember how this show was trailed?

As JustaBloke says, that is not the case. Amazon US will sell region 1 DVDs to the UK; I've bought quite a lot over many years. What they won't sell to non US regions, is the digital file versions, and their buying process stops the purchase from happening if you're not located in the US.

I'm delighted infinity is now here, it means over the next year or so i should have some real choice. However, for now, and for me, Virgin offer me HD, BT Sport and the Sky basic channels all in one place, are cheaper than Sky for what I want from them and not very much more than BT or Talk Talk given the extras they offer over either of those companies once my loyalty discount is taken into account.

Without that discount, however, they're beginning to look very expensive. I know they've had a good year, but with channels continuing to be moved to lower tiers i can't help thinking that there must be something else to come. It would be really disappointing if they're relying on people not switching services-there really is so much choice now.

It would appear BT have now released an update which has enabled the recording of the live internet channels and are keen to add more channels so it looks like competition is set to get hotter still , I believe Talk Talk are also to release a similar update to enable recording of the IPTV channels.

I actually hadn't considered that you couldn't!

Just browsing cash back rates available and you could almost have two or three months free with most providers. Sky are also offering Virgin customers 25% off for 12 months.
