with you all the way with that one

I'll second that it's the main reason I took my main TV service over to Sky as the HD channel range wasn't flexible enough for my liking , I'm loving ESPNA HD , Sky Atlantic HD , Sky Sports 3 and 4 HD , Universal HD , Nat Geo Wild HD if these were offered on a VM HD pack I would definately consider returning.

MM's hit the nail on the head; if you want more HD and channel choice, go to Sky for TV. If you want free HD (but slightly fewer channels), stick with VM. Why muddy a well defined choice?

I'd say Sky Anytime+ is a stopping block. Having to have that to access Sky's on demand is terrible for those who want to keep their VM broadband because £7.50 (or £12.50 without their phone) a month just so they can use one feature is terrible.

What code are you on UK4 or UK5?

If it UK4 I think the tests is maybe something to do with Phase 2 of the Sky Sports Red Button and Virgin are testing in some areas to see if they work on boxes.

Can anyone help me how to do a channel scan on my Tivo to see how many channels I've got?

You do still get Anytime

http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/anytime/

Granted there's not as much as Anytime+

Slightly fewer? Sky have 50 odd HD channels, isn't that considerably more?

OK, considerably more (though there are only a few essential ones). The principle is the same; with VM, you get free HD, With Sky, you get 'considerably more' but pay.

I like the VM model.

Those who want more channels/HD, should either be patient, or move to Sky for TV

He was talking about VM in comparison to Sky not vice versa.
