If you want the SKY HD channels on additional boxes it will cost you £7 extra per month per additional box you want it on

thats what I thought you said about the HD channels - not happy with that. I that VM were working the package to give us back value. :(

can live on 20 mb broadband quite happily but am disappointed this package has come up short

Virgin Media have to pay Sky for the HD channels, by offering them free on the main box on VIP50 they are paying Sky for you for the HD channels

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

I started this thread to get a better deal for us VIP customers and I'm happy with the outcome so far.
We have emailed in our houndreds if not thousands requesting better and I think we have got it.

VIP 50 for £97.50 - only a £5 increase and you get 50mb broadband + Free Sky Prem HD channles (Main V+ Box) and the VIP pack now includes the VHD Box as the 2nd Standard Box. (£49 activation fee)

Plus were getting Comedy Central HD and a couple more Sky HD channels for no extra cost.

Its a start and a very good one - we wait and see for the new and improved VIP packages coming soon.

All in all I'm very happy.

Keep up the pressure people.

I agree I think we are getting a good deal now! Not much else I would improve in my opinion.

Anyone else think this might have just being their plans for early next year but have brought them forward?

Also I just a got a reply from Virgin Media on twitter and according to them you can have the HD Channels on any box! Doesn't have to be the main one!

Yes agree I have just being told the same as long as your 2nd is VHD Box.

Also for those who feel disappointed that the 2nd VHD box does not also come with Sky HD Prem Channels - compared to Sky you have to pay £10 per HD package i.e. per box and another £10 per multi room plus the 2nd HD box costs a £199 one off fee.

We just pay an extra £7 on the 2nd box and one off £49 - I know what option I would go for.

I have just gone through to retentions and a very nice lady has now booked me in to have my BB upgraded to 50 meg from 20meg, SKY Prem HD channels for free and additional set top box swapped for a HD one next Tuesday. ! will now be paying £97.50 a month. So basically £5 extra a month (£20 BB activation fee & £49 HD box activation fee) :)

Good video but you really should set it to 1080 wide.

Thats my point C/S dont know anything and if they do it depends what information has filtered to them - when you call 150 ask to be put through to retentions. they know of the offer.

Customer Services go by whats on the system and this offer is not system driven YET.

Why do you have to pay the £49 for HD activation on the multiroom box, when it's states on the VIP webpage "Additional V HD Box - HD activated" ?

Because if you upgrade/new customer to VIP you will see a one off charge when you add it to the basket if online or you will be told the one off fee.

Its also a standard charge no matter what package you have

yes... from today it's £49 for any HD box to have HD enabled.

Hmm, that's a bit odd. The small print says it's a £35 installation fee, when adding the basket it changes to a £35 HD activation fee. Neither are £49 though.
