I don't think they are at all. I think the smaller clubs should be compensated when United/Arsenal/Liverpool/Chelsea etc take a player that a smaller club has invested their scant resources into developing away from them.

I mean it really does leave a sour taste in the mouth when a club which the wealth of resources of a Chelsea or United take a player from one of these clubs in a manor deliberately designed to avoid giving the smaller clubs any money at all.

What incentive do this clubs have to develop players anymore if their good ones are taken by the big boys?

Again, If only a small minority does it should that be reason enough? England have been very good at stamping it out of our game but a minority will slip though and it's not fair they represent a country which is very good on this issue.
