I like the fact that McClaren has not resorted back to playing Lampard even though he is recovered from injury.

However Im not too sure about his overall decision making. I just wish he would drop Robinson, I cant understand why he's kept so much faith in him, even in the friendlies. And surely bringing back Heskey, although he played ok, isnt the best thing for the future of the England team. I dont think England needed Heskey to beat Russia at wembley.

He's kept Robinson in because he has only conceded 2 goals in 10 competitive international matches and they were both in the same game, so thats nine clean sheets, not bad if you ask me.

Theres a difference between keeping a clean sheet as a result of not having too save a shot (because of your defence) and actually pulling off good saves. Robinson has dropped a few clangers, and in my opinion Green (West ham keeper) or even Carson should have been given a shot, at least in the friendlies.

Since England lost, what happens now?

If we fail to beat Croatia and russia win one of their games are we out?

Eitje :)

I would like to point out that England have been going through a transitional period since July 1966, but things are beginning to turn around at last.....albeit with a few hiccups along the way :)

Not really. I don't think he could have been expected to hold that shot. It was just unlucky it went to an opposition player.

I think it was an goalkeeping error to, if he couldn't hold it he should of pushed it out for a corner, not back into the danger area, he made his own luck by doing that and lost

Well is no-one going to mention Wales' glorious win? You know, a scraped 2-1 victory over San Marino who are officially ranked by UEFA as the least successful side in all of europe?

What a manager. Tosh by name, Tosh by nature.
