I even fired up my ultra reliable Zen dial up account for a few minutes just so that I could appreciate my 750k speed.

Everything comes to he who waits.

Sorry missed irony i have that nice samsung box and its not upgraded yet thought someone had messed with my config file keeping me on 750.

My internet just came back... i'm on 2meg now :)... but rather than an instant upgarde.. it took em long enough... tried to upgrade via the website on tuesday, and my modem died for 48 hours... only the ds light and ethernet... decided to come back on this evening :)...

Was told earlier by CS that I won't be able to upgrade because I upgraded from 300k to 750k three weeks ago and the system won't allow two upgrades inside a month.
Is this BS?

It's true I think, you have to wait 1 month.

yup... i'm afraid you speed can only change once in a month (although this is a way of getting round this, 99.9% of c/s agents will not able to do this, so you'll have to wait until next month i'm afraid
