I have very limited play time the next 2 weeks as I'm working away a lot and wont have my xbox with me! Should give you plenty chance to beat some of the times.

Best advise I can give is to view some of the replays of the best times and take some tips from that. From the track selection screen, hit Y for leaderboards then either view friends replays or Overall and hit Y again to play the replay. You will be able to watch the run back in slow motion if you want and see all the button presses at the bottom right. Gave me a lot of ideas.

I've downloaded Xbox Fitness which looks good and I'll be trying later, a mate of mine bought Sports Rivals and gave up on it so he's letting me have it this week and the reviews seem good enough to give it a try, are there any plans for more Kinect games at all? As long its tech works well (and so far I've found it to be ok) it seems like there's loads of potential but I'm a bit surprised there's not more out there to utilise it.

But what if your account were to get hacked and you had no other choice but to do a charegback on your credit card?
Your account would get banned and you'd lose all your games ;)

Xbox , PSN, Origin, and Steam all ban accounts for a charge back

I would have to take that risk like most people, things are going digital with this generation more than ever before.

I do have emails of purchased games though, so not sure if that would help.

Just signed up to Netflix and changed the DNS settings on the Xbox One to USA, it was so easy, how often will i have to change the DNS settings?

MalteseFalcon 12-03-2015 23:51

Re: The Xbox One Thread

You shouldn't need to put them in again, as long as you don't change back to UK settings. In which case, you WILL need to put the US DNS settings in again.

cimt 12-03-2015 23:56

Re: The Xbox One Thread

If you use Unblock-US then you can just change your region instead of messing with the DNS...

Tezcatlipoca 13-03-2015 00:44

Re: The Xbox One Thread

Yup, much easier to use Unblock-Us' Netflix region switcher than keep altering the DNS settings. It also means you can switch to Netflix regions other than just the US and UK.

How would that help me for watching on the Xbox one and is it free? :)

Tezcatlipoca 13-03-2015 23:50

Re: The Xbox One Thread

https://www.unblock-us.com/

It costs $4.99 per month, or $49.90 a year, but is IMO well worth it if you want to watch more than just Netflix UK.

The region switcher on the website means that if you want to go back to Netflix UK from Netflix US (or vice versa), you don't need to touch the DNS settings on the Xbox (or whatever device you use them on) - you just change regions on the website. It also opens it up to other Netflix regions such as Canada and various ones in Europe etc.

Yes, it costs a small amount each month, but it's an established company with a good rep. There's no way that I'd use some random anonymous DNS settings found via Googling or whatever.

MalteseFalcon 14-03-2015 06:54

Re: The Xbox One Thread

I've used Unblock-us now for around 2 years. Minimal amount to pay each month for the chance to watch other regions. You touch the settings once, to put the DNS settings from Unblock in, then use the website to change the region as and when you want to change it.

New users get a week free as well, so worth a try.

SnoopZ 14-03-2015 08:43

Re: The Xbox One Thread

Think I will stick to how I do it now as I don't want to pay for it as already paying for newsgroup access and it all adds up.

Hopefully I won't need to change the DNS too often.

For anyone interested, that's £33.84 per year or £3.38 per month :) at the moment, as the exchange rate can change

MalteseFalcon 14-03-2015 10:24

Re: The Xbox One Thread

Also, so people can work out the right exchange rate they charge in CANADIAN Dollars, not US Dollars. Which means at the current rate, it is only £2.65 a month or over 12 months £31.80

Exactly why I am not buying it, as it's just a expansion pack for Battlefield 4.

I don't think it can be classed as an expansion at all there is to much in it to class it as an expansion imo. I've really been enjoying it.

Saw that announced a while ago about the pc and xbox being able to play against each other etc, but the one issue I have is that all the console COD players will stop it working with the likes of FPS games, because of the keyboard and mouse on the pc.

Will have to see what happens but if I can play COD or something else on my pc and compete against people on Xbox then I am all for it, aslong as those on pc are forced to use the controller although I am getting better with it.

One of my fave Xbox One exclusives, and one of my fave new* games so far of the new generation.

Yup, still only buying digital downloads.

I almost always buy my Xbox credit from CDKeys.com.

I did try an eBay seller once, but it turned into a massive hassle so I've avoided that route since then.

Simply Games seem to sell the cd keys rather than creating accounts as a work around but not tried them yet, i am after COD Advanced at around £30 at some point so just waiting as i never buy full price anymore.

I've used SimplyCDKeys.com before for Xbox store credit. Never had any issues. I tend to stick with CDKeys.com though as they usually have a better price, at least for the credit.

I would *never* use any of those sites that sell actual accounts. Buying/selling MS/Xbox accounts is a clear violation of the terms of use, and as such there's a risk that doing so could get your account banned and the content you've bought revoked.

cimt 30-03-2015 04:52

Re: The Xbox One Thread

You could also get your Xbox banned as well? Or is that just 360? I know I wouldn't waste the money buying accounts that have 1 game on it. It's not worth the hassle in the end. It's why I love CDKeys. I think I've had to provide ID about 3 times out of the hundreds of pounds I've spent with them.

Luckily i have only been ID checked once the very first time i placed an order via a automated phone call where i had to enter a code.

As Madgamer said there is a limit of 250GB, you should get a WD 2TB drive, alot of people use these in this thread including myself, when you plug it in it asks you what you wish to do with it.

Oh and got Trials Fusion the other night. Not had much chance to play more than 5/10 minutes a go so not that good yet. Hoping to have a good play over the next few days.

Can you post your gamertag so i can add you as i play Fusions alot?

Which version of the game did you get, is it the Deluxe with all the DLC?

Just renewed my Live sub for another 12 months. £25.90 from cdkeys.com . Was asked to verify my phone number, and did this by SMS. A very easy service to use. Will use them again :)

They all did automatically, in fact the DLC downloaded first then had to wait fifteen minutes for the game itself to install. Hoping to get a bit more time tonight on there, like I say not had much time yet to get into it.

Such a frustrating game but if you keep at it you will keep knocking milliseconds off your time for each track, but it is a good challenge! :)

As Madgamer said there is a limit of 250GB, you should get a WD 2TB drive, alot of people use these in this thread including myself, when you plug it in it asks you what you wish to do with it.

I have a 2TB one as well.

I finished the main campaign on Sunset Overdrive last night. Going to do the DLC this weekend.

Absolutely brilliant game, and one that every Xbox One owner should play!

The April preview came in two waves.

The final public version released today is missing the voice messaging and dedicated servers for party chat that the second wave of the preview added - they're staying in preview following feedback.

Fifa 15 is now in the EA Access vault, i wish they had more games other than sports as i hate sports.

Excellent, been waiting for that to come out. Can deleted FIFA 14 now and install 15.

I've been told that Battlefield Hardline need a patch for shotguns as there is a 1 second delay on them, which explains why I got owned a handgun.

I wish there could be a ban on snipers as many get kills sitting in an area where we cannot reach them or get one shot kills firing off the hip
