Sky advert in the papers today seems to confirm Sky Sports News HD will not launch on Virgin at the same time as Sky. Says "Sky Sports News HD launches only on Sky on August 23"

Interesting news about the VIP package. Never really considered getting it as always thought it was too expensive but then checked a bill (never really checked before due to laziness and its my mums bill) but am

I'd expect both soon as they are both Sky basic channels

It might be down the fact Sky won't let Virgin adverstise these channels when they signed an agreement recently for the hd channels

If we don't get SSN HD on the 23rd i'd expect it to launch at some point this year. Remember Five HD launched and there was no prior announcements from VM untill the day it went live so they may suprise us but i doubt it.

Think it becomes one from the 28th august when HD launches and is going off freeview on the same day,One of my friends has just returned to sky and the sales person told him Sky Sports News HD is exclusive to Sky till at least next year.

could explain the issues some were having on channel 133 yesterday, nothing on CC official site, would be great to get that channel from launch, I fully expected sky to have this for a while first, although I was happy to just see their shows in 16.9 instead of 4.3.

It seems to me that SKY policy has allways been to control not just the Pay TV broadcast market but also which platform we watch it from:erm:

We watch SKY programming on VM because we prefer the platform it is delivery from namely cable, which is an excellent product.

How do you know it is not Virgin holding them back? They could have issues launching that many channels in one go? Seeing as Sky now owns Living the HD version has not appeared on satellite yet. Could be any number of reasons.

What other HD channels will come at the same time or later?

Bottonm line is VM will never be the same as Sky, that is why we chose VM.

VM will eventually get us to where we want to go or we leave VM.( SORTED)

If I remember rightly, MitB was listed as Sky Sports HD3 aswell but it ended up on HD1 so I wouldn't take that as definate until the EPG displays it, would be great to see it on HD1 or 2 tho :)

BBC One HD is confirmed as coming this autumn, and it also seems now that Comedy Central HD will be launching soon.

with it being tv-pg nowadays I would say there is very little if any difference in the late night versions as opposed to the repeats that look to be airing on HD1/2, so I would just wait and watch smackdown on Saturday Afternoon and raw is on a few days later at 9.00am on SSHD2 . I very much doubt anyone watches it as it airs as there are so many adverts in each show, esp Raw Live

I also think I remember seeing the last SkySports shown PPV on wwe.com listed as SS3 but it was shown on SS1 so you never know.

its working on my parents V+ in the other room but the EPG is all messed up, maybe they are doing them staggered, thought with a confirmed date for airing and people ordereing in advance it would be a simple switch and they would be on.

Comedy Central SD is currently 132, so though it has been missed out on the PDF it would still fit in with those numbers.
