The men's and women's victories today came at almost the same time. I had a nice little set up in the garden with the test match on the laptop, and the women's ODI on the phone, plus a bottle of wine. Really must actually subscribe to Sky Sports someday ;)

I was also in the garden, watching the test match on my iPad using the Sky Sports app and keeping an eye on Le Tour, FI and the ladies at the same time. :)

You can view Sky Sports on a tablet with your VM details for free. :)

If you already have Virgin Media it doesn't cost anything, how much cheaper than that can you get?

Yes but to use that you'd have to actually subscribe to Sky Sports through VM wouldn't you?

Yes multiple devices do help as we often find in our household especially at weekends.

Perhaps he's bragging about something other than tv subscription

So much for the honeymoon.

Often true that low scoring ODI,s are more entertaining.

Well played England Women, new world champions.

That said I think I could set a decent field at this level. 85% of scoring shots came from across the line mows into the leg side. ;)

Re: CRICKET.

I think the general idea was to move away from huge general threads for multiple discussions. I believe 'Cricket Season 2017' could be the idea but maybe we're heading towards match threads (Individual threads for different matches) we're definitely moving away from general threads though, so as per his previous idea (FA Cup thread) different topics for different parts of that one sport, a thread for club cricket season, a thread for international occasions and so on. It's still up to us to create threads that way to start with so everyone follows suit. Club Cricket, International Cricket, Football League Cup, Premier League season, FA cup, World cup 2018 and so on. Same applies to Rugby League and Union at club and International level. General threads being reserved for stuff like the Olympics and news. See the thread prefixes to get the idea.

Boxing was changed to MMA because as per Paul's post I was posting both sports in that one thread. MMA appears to have remained opened as a mega thread but lacks a hefty following anyway.

Paul's being trying to spruce up the sports forum a bit recently.

I'm going to go for Boxing match threads per card basis from now on. The idea is decent. Previously you'd have to open the thread to actually see what was being discussed, rather than being able to click a thread titled for the occasion and knowing what topic is the forefront.

Not following cricket at the minute but probably get the thread title amended to reflect the season and then just delete my post.

An example. See Osem's thread about the u20 world cup. It's football related but has a thread separate from the football season thread which is club football dominant. I believe that's what we're going for. Then see Formula 1 season 2017. Then see the Tennis thread locked, but something like Wimbledon 2017 would be fine etc.

So 'General Boxing Thread' - Bad
Boxing: Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor 26th August - Good
Cricket: 'Whatever cricket sponsor' league season 2017/2018 -good
General cricket thread - bad

That's the way I've interpreted the changes.

Why dont you read the annoucement. ;)

A topic called "Cricket" is going to cut it.

Since we allow seasonal threads for football, I'd tollerate one for the 2017 Season, but really, new subjects should be new threads, not one huge mega thread.
