True maybe this could be an option in the email for pre reg to order.

Here's hoping! £49 is a lot easier to swallow than £149 :)

That's my initial plan when I get tivo, but I will experiment. The fact that there are 3 recordable tuners should reduce the problms with adding padding though.

If the September update has the V+ method of padding, that would solve the poblem, but no one has said wheather it will. Maybe they aren't allowed to?

Why will it take till september for that update,Seems a awfull long time?

I think that's just the latest they expect it. The development team at TiVo/VM are prioritising other features, such as 3rd tuner.

It's no biggy for most, especially when you will have 3 tuners in a few weeks. :)

Crystal ball question, how many years in the future will it be before Tivo becomes the standard PVR for VM with new customers getting TIVO enabled boxes.

Secondly a curiosity question when will the VHD boxes have a flavour of Tivo upgraded on them?

If it's true, I still don't get this; there isn't a 100 pound cost difference between the drives. I wonder if there will be some limitation of tivo functionality on the 500 gig one? Or, VM have decided to charge a premium for increased recording space?
