Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Had a strange issue with one programme, I’ve had problems both recording the programme Operation Crossbow on BBC2band then watching the programme on iPlayer, maybe an EPG error?

Originally set up to record this programme on BBc2 when it was first shown last week and found that the recording didn’t get to the end of the programme by what seemed 15 minutes so an EPG error.

However I also recorded a repeat of the programme and that missed the last 10 minutes so have the BBC messed up their EPG data or something?

I decided to watch the programme on iPlayer this morning at the programme kept stopping before the end by around 5 to 10 minutes. But the full programme was there if you fast forward to the end so it took me 3 attempts to actually watch the last 15 minutes of the programme! Very strange and not sure what was happening there!

I've sent a PM to Nick on the VM forums to notify VM if it is an EPG error.

We are aware of the odd random programme on BBC iPlayer doing this, but odd that it's happened on a recording too

Interesting that the reviewer seems to agree with Jethro UK

You can set up series links, but this is a bit convoluted. You have to select the programme, then enter a menu and select ‘Get a Series Link’, it then takes you into a low-res menu with options to set up your series link - such as just new episodes, or new and re-runs - before taking a few seconds to confirm it and return you to the first menu.

In general though excellent review and a good result for TIVO and VM.

The trouble is, people expect a setup that includes several options to take the same time as a setup with no options. That's not possible, and I personally prefer the options.

It could be speeded up if you could set your own defaults for these options, and Tivo rememberd them. But TBH, it's only going to make a few seconds difference.

To be honest it got a good write up and when little bits are added and niggles sorted it should get even better.
