Doubtless be'll soon get used to it, but a potato gun is the next surprise for him :) I think i'm being very humane tbh.

cats just gone out for a dump he took his bus pass and ear plugs watch out

All good now Osem just waiting for things to be approved for my Mum to get a ramp. The social work department have now done a site visit and been given quotes from companies they use. I was informed today that they do not see an issue giving my Mum's health, then hopefully it should not be too long for my Mum's wheel chair ramp to be fitted then we will be able to purchase a Electric Wheelchair for her at the moment a electric wheelchair is just not a option due to the weight of it and access.

In the time being we a looking at other options to make things easier for my Dad to push the chair up the driveway and a power pack for her current wheel chair seems a good option I found this on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wheelchair-.../dp/B00IXHU6CE and I'm sure hubby will be able to fit this no problem plus it's a lot cheaper than the £700-£800 we were being quoted for it at our local mobility aids shop.

I'm just grateful that we have a department within the council that can supply wheel chair ramps as my parents driveway is very steep so we would need a zig zag ramp and the prices we were getting quoted was well out our budget.

I would welcome any feedback on this power pack maybe a member knows someone who uses something similar or has experience of using one themselves. What I am looking for is something that can be put on and took off with little effort as the wheel chair still needs to be light enough to get down two steps as it is my Dad who is 80 years old who pushes the chair.

So Glad you are getting things sorted out for your Mum and Dad, Take Care of yourself too

My idiot of a neighbour.

She cannot park a car to save her life.

She parked behind my dad's Zafira, and yes the cow is touching the bumper. The behind hers wasn't their when she pulled up.

Best of all their is a wheelchair in his boot.

The other week a guy left a space which his Ford Ranger 4x4 had been in, she parked her car half on the pavement.

She need to be made to retake her driving test or best of all banned.

We went up the hospital later this morning to see our friend and sadly he is in a lot of pain as the supposed palliative care pain relief that was supposed to arrive early in the morning arrived 6 hours late.:(

Sorry to hear this Den. My old man was on morphine patches right up to the end and these were changed every week so he had very little pain. Obviously the circumstances with your friend could be quite different but it might be worth finding out if he hasn't got these already.

If we're going to watch people slowly die in such circumstances the least we can do is give them all the pain relief they need. Luckily my dad's real suffering only lasted a few days but for some its far worse.

I hate people who park like that! Let's just hope one day she parks like that only to find that someone has did the same to her and touched her bumper then she will be stuck till either the car in front/behind moves then and only then she will learn to leave space. Is that bad of me wishing this on someone?

That sucks den, I hope he is pain free soon.

My moan is that I am seeming to be easily irritated by minor things that normally wouldn't bother me.

Den I am so sorry that your friend was without his much needed pain relief, can the palliative care team not supply oramorph. I know the palliative care team my Mum has leaves my Dad a syringe of this to give my Mum if needed I'm sure it is 5ml but will check later on when I go back over.

He is on one of those pain relief syringe drivers containing liquid morphine Osem which when it runs out makes a alarm noise which they knew would happen at a certain time and still he had to wait until someone arrived with some more 6 hours later as he needs it continuously because of the terrible pain he is in..

Oh I see Den. That is appalling. If I were him and/or his loved ones I'd be wanting a backup supply provided. Is there no possibility of that?

You would have thought there would be a back up supply but sadly there is nothing of the sort according to his family as his wife was extremely unhappy with what transpired very early this morning as anybody would be.
