I think Hubby once got a ridiculous offer of like 15 for 5 pounds on that but the store didn't take out the individual cartridges from the main box of 15 - they were like 5 each. He returned it due to their error / but usually they are quite expensive - do you get them retail or wholesale? They just don't work out cost effective usually and unfortunately we live in kind of a hard water area. :(

We got them off Amazon yesterday in their daily deals as we paid £16 for 6.

Yes as soon as we saw the offer we did not need to think about it too much.

6 lasts you 6 months???

What do you use them for, a kettle or jug?

Ours is Kettle and we are lucky if one lasts a month....argh.

Water jug, we change them once a month which i think is when they're meant to be changed give or take a week.

Mine is kettle as we end up with plastic crap at the bottom of it otherwise. I only do the kettle like twice a day but no way does a set last me a month.

Grr....

Get a water jug, then the water should be ok before it goes in the kettle, where is the plastic coming from, if its the kettle get a new kettle?

The tap - I have both the Brita Jug and Kettle.

We have dreadful water round here, it is hard, full of plastic and lumpy.

The kettle is fine as it has it's own filter system + cartridges. It is just rather uneconomical to use it like this.
