From reviewing the original post linking to Electric Magazine and some other research, I am expecting selected programming in 3D on some or all of the various Channel 4s: C4 (S4C), Film4, More4, E4, 4Music, T4 during this week as well as in TV Choice On Demand > What We're Watching from Tuesday 17th.

Is it me or is there less information on the EPG of late? Episode titles are missing for series, films don't have the lead actors and production year listed. What's going on? If anything, I would hope that more information would be available on the i button these days with scrolling of the information box for extra details.

A few years ago when I complained to VM that the i button text was being truncated they said that it came that way from the EPG supplier and they had no control over it.

Is there a better thread to discuss this in? The Search facility doesn't like short phrases like EPG or 3D.

it because virign is a closed system they get information from epg supplier they tend to just cut out the information and give basic ifnormation which tends to eb none, if they where open liek sky the channel could update the epg themself with more ifnormation that why i use digiguide since it provides the estra information i require

AC, how's family life?

Some questions ...

The information I mentioned used to be available but has disappeared in recent weeks or even days. Films always had the year and lead actors and series always had the episode title. So why has the EPG supplier stopped providing this? Has the EPG supplier changed?

Why is the EPG supplier not taking the information from the channel anyway, if it is available? Why is the supply of information different between VM and Sky? Where do FreeView and FreeSat fit into this open/closed model?

What is DigiGuide and how can I use it seemlessly with my VM V Box?

Actually, the VM On Demand is now listing the Chuck 3D episode since my last post. so they've started early!

I didn't go to any 3D movies in the sixties but I did see the Michael Jackson 15 minute or so Captain EO 3D movie at Disney in the late 80s, so while it's not that much to get excited about, I'm curious to see how things have progressed.

Apparently 3D cinema was aimed at attracting audiences away from distractions like TV at home or, maybe, roller disco a couple of decades later! Cinema has had somewhat of a comeback in recent years but may be having a slump again just now. Will 3D, widescreen, HD TV and BluRay DVD be the death of the buttered popcorn industry?

Had quite a bit ofa scare last week, he took very ill and they suspect he had a blocked and might have ot be operatored on, but in the end they put it down ot server tummy bug so much for breast feeding being best!!!!

I dnt know if they have changed supplier, but i do know the ones that they where using are lazy and if you want the better informaiton you have to pay them about 30 times as much so i suspect virign have been told oyu want the current information you will nee dot pay x amount probally twie or three times as much as before or there strippign it for faster epg

freeview andd freesat i aint sure hwo they work i think there open for broadcaster to update the epg themself but i aint sure.

digiguide cant be used with your box but can be used on the ocmputer so oyu are awar ein advance

Second that on Digiguide - I have been using it for at least a couple of years - it costs IRO £10 per year and in my opinion is well worth it. Mind you the way I have things set up my computer is next to me in the lounge and permantly on so it is very easy to look things up.

There are some great features for searching (for example when the last batch of HD channnels came out I was able to run filters that showed me exactly what programs on what channels were going to be in HD and then produce a list of the programs).

You can download a 30 day free (fully functional) demo from their site. www.digiguide.co.uk

Virgin Media only carry Magic 105.4 on Ex-NTL and Ex-CW areas.

And also on Ex-Telewest in London area. But the non London local GMG Radio channels was removed from Virgin weeks ago.

Am I right in thinking that you are in Ex-Telewest area outside London?
