It appears nothing else has changed on the bill - so in theory it is correct, but I am querying if I should be paying £16.50 for keeping the V+ box.

I'm on XL Tv, XL Broadband, Unlimited Phone - with so many odd charges/discounts that the bills are always a bit of a mystery to me!

Am I wrong in thinking that the £10 V+ monthly fee should have been stopped now? I thought I had heard that it had? But the India Call Centre denied that this was the case. I had the V+ since it was first released, but can't remember if I paid a one-off fee at the time, I'm sure I did because I seem to remember my husband complaining about the cost.

I think that I have worked it out and you are not getting charged the £16.50 for the box. Here is my working out for you:

New bill is £224.25 ( then you need to subtract the following )
TiVo £149.95
Partial charge £2.70
Month in advance £3.00
= £68.60

Hope this helps you:D As this is why I asked all the questions. So it looks like you are not getting charged to the extra box and this will be in the discounts?

Wow this is along thread!

I'm getting the 500GB TiVo installed on Saturday. There are 1000's of posts in here - is there anywhere that has the top tips to get the best out of the TiVo?

Did you have multi-room BEFORE TiVo?

Thanks DF - yes I had an old V box upstairs which I then replaced with the V+.

If I call 150 to speak to Customer Care, which option do I choose from the list? I never know which one leads to Customer Care..... :(

Thanks Devilincarnate, Looking back on the last bill, I was getting charged the £16.50 before (for having a V+ downstairs and a V (non HD) upstairs) - so this is not an additional charge - I should have queried the £10 for V+ before now - but now I have Tivo, I would like to get this sorted. I think it's a bit steep to be charged £10 for a V+ which is a second box, plus £6.50 for the second box!

Yeah, just select 150 for billing and they can remove the V+ monthly £10 fee. as you already had multi-room, you don't qualify for the free multi-room offer, so £6.50 monthly charge will stand.

Okay - thanks DF - I can live with that ;)

However, when I spoke to the Indian call center (selected Billing from the options) the guy said that there was no way they could remove the £10 charge for the V+ unless I pay an £85 one-off fee!!

That's not true anymore. There used to be a conversion fee. Might be best speaking to one of our UK team in the morning?

Odd - just sitting down to watch The Apprentice and, as the tuner kicked in to start recording it, the screen briefly went blank, before the picture returned.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

That's expected behaviour when it starts a recording on the tuner you're watching.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Expected? In what way?

The V+ didn't do that.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

It is how TiVo works. It's taken you to the tuner thats about to record, to free up the other tuners for possible planned recordings. V+ had 3 tuners, but only 2 that actually recorded.

The V+ only used 2 tuners for recording and one for viewing live TV. You never got to see how the recording tuners behaved when a recording started.

I am currently recording the Soap Awards (8.00pm - 10.00pm)
as well as the Family Guy double bill (9.00pm - 9.30pm and then 9.30pm to 10.00pm)
whilst watching the Apprentice on BBC One - I just got a message come up on screen to say I need to change channel for the recording of the second Family Guy to happen.
Any reason why this has happened?
