Re: New Speeds - June 1st
I receive the below message when logging into NTL, however even after powering the modem off and on, I am still on 2mb. Spoke to tech support through NTL medic, however they have not been too much help as yet (after 26 minutes).

thanks james. you would have thought that at least one set of uBR's would have been set by now even though theres a full month to go before we need worry. its always possible that someone has already been upgraded and not posting here, but still, there are a lot of people reading these threads, so perhaps not. regarding the uncapped 10mbit, is that all the people on that package can expect, or did it get a confirmed upload upgrade too, i would consider going to that option if it did better uploads than 512k/s, but i presume its not,so stay as i am in wythenshawe for now. |

Re: New Speeds - June 1st
Surely it would have been more sensible for NTL to say "All customers' packages will be upgraded by July 1st" ;)

Re: New Speeds - June 1st
a week to do 10 areas... mmmm, fishy!! (cue obvious grimsby joke!)
I'd say that is either unrelated, or it's that their network needs upgrading first... i can't believe they gonna roll it out like this everywhere.. would be too slow. |
Re: New Speeds - June 1st

Might just get onto the water board and tell them I want my water running faster... and some quicker electricity while they're at it!!! LOL |
Re: New Speeds - June 1st
if I try and upgrade online it tells me i'm on the 4mb service already but i am not according to the speed tests.
I am happy to wait for now but they can't advertise a 4mb service for long before people will start wanting it. |
Re: New Speeds - June 1st

Re: New Speeds - June 1st
yea, we had some Lo-FLO taps fitted by the council the other month, its soooo sloooooow to fill up the sink now, still theres a water shortage so thats that i guess.
im in manchester were it always rains, and it has too :) no shortage of water here. for faster electricity, your going to need high grade copper wire installing, and for superfast electricity, your looking at a super cooled gas refridgeration unit encasing the copper wire :) that will get you faster................ Zoooooooommm |
