I doubt that. It's more likely to be associated with the 'free channels for all' month. The kids channels are not listed in this article, although clearly the list is not comprehensive because it originally referred to 'over 20 channels', but only listed 18.

It isn't but at least the over 20 channels claim is now correct.

Discovery-WarnerMedia merger latest:

Last Friday (4th February) Discovery-WarnerMedia merger was give a approved by Cade (Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica) in Brazil.

https://twitter.com/RegularTweetsUK/...49572993409031

But I have still to see anything on America and UK given Discovery-WarnerMedia merger it approved. EU approved it in Late December 2021.

Discovery & AT&T hopes to close a "Discovery-WarnerMedia merger" mid 2022.

Info found by RegularCapital via Twitter.

So are they carrying extra steams for those regions "for national use" or are they using extra labels to point to them from different channel numbers?

Video / Audio were still to be added but the new SDT labels are on national transport streams. Regional networks don't have access to regional transport streams other than those specific to their area.

You've stumbled upon another issue, that being will London and the nations take their (BBC One HD) feeds from the national streams (going forward) rather than regional ones but it's way too early to start looking into that. (Recently, when SID / PID numbers for the new BBC One HD regions were rationalised - they took the old, vacated, SD SIDs etc - the SID for London didn't change. Which was odd.)

No, just the current BBC One HD versions and the (England/Scotland) version of BBC Two HD

What could WBD’s merger for existing channels on Sky and VM? I could see the combined company’s Freeview channels like Quest staying on air, but repurposed as general-entertainment channels. Deadwood like TCM, Discovery History and Boomerang closing down. When BT and Eurosport merge, they’ll probably cut their linear presence from 6 channels to 4, with greater emphasis on discovery+ for sports entertainment.

Let not put BT Sport into a WarnerMedia and Discovery merger until it been sign off by BT and Discovery.

What will Warner Bros. Discovery own?
-Really*
-TLC*
-ID*
-Quest HD*
-Quest Red*
-DMAX*
-TLC +1*
-ID +1*
-Quest +1*
-Quest Red*
-DMAX +1*
-Discovery Channel HD*
-Animal Planet HD*
-Discovery Channel +1*
-Discovery Science*
-Discovery Turbo*
-Discovery History*
-Discovery Channel +1*
-Animal Planet +1*
-Discovery Science +1*
-Discovery Turbo +1*
-Discovery History +1*
-Food Network*
-HGTV*
-Food Network +1*
-HGTV +1*
-TCM Movies HD**
-TCM Movies +1**
-Eurosport 1 HD*
-Eurosport 2 HD*
-CNN**
-GB News HD*^
-Cartoon Network HD**
-Cartoon Network +1**
-Cartoonito**
-Boomerang HD**
-Boomerang +1**

-HD Channels are also broadcasting in SD on Sky.
-* Own by Discovery right now.
-** Own by WarnerMedia right now.
-*^ Part own by Discovery right now.

Bar the following names I think all other channels will stay the same as now:

-Really will become Quest Sports (something like Freesport)
-Things like Deadwood will move to Quest (No sports)
-Really shows will move to Quest, Quest Red, DMAX and HGTV
-Discovery History and Discovery Science may merge into one channel.

-Turbo may get axe.
-Cartoonito +1 and Cartoonito HD may launch using Turbo slots on Sky.

-What will happen to GB News - will Discovery sell their share?

This post is just my own views but Warner Bros. Discovery will be looking it their channel list to merge or close some brands to make even more money.

I thought the op meant TCM itself was Deadwood. Deadwood the TV Show is owned by ViacomCBS was made by Paramount Network Television at the time for HBO, it has been shown on CBS Action in the past.
