That's useful to know, I've been pondering if I should go Netflix or LoveFilms and that puts a tick in the positives for Netflix:)

The more I think about it if I had both why would I need VM XL TV package?

Because you'd have less choice, presumably.

A good viewing experience is all about quality, and to get the best of what is available, you need to be able to pick out programmes from multiple channels/apps.

I love Netflix, but even with the on demand services added, I still need the terrestrial and subscription channels to complete the range of choice I need.

Incidentally, Netflix is far better value than Picturebox, which is a joke in terms of quantity as well as quality and is only marginally cheaper!

That's what more and more people are starting to think , for many traditional pay TV is fast becoming a luxury they can live without. If your ok with waiting longer for shows to appear the streaming options offer decent value for money , especially if you already have a recordable terrestrial box.

One other option, rather than Netflix and Lovefilm, is Netflix used in conjunction with a service such as Unblockus, which gives you access to all the Netflix regions and their different content. At around £3 per month, Unblockus is cheaper than a Lovefilm subscription and I found that when I added Unblockus to Netflix, I no longer needed Lovefilm. Unblockus also gives you access to Hulu, so that you can watch all the US Network TV shows.

And, if you are like me and want the HBO content that only Sky Atlantic show, Unblockus allows you to subscribe to HBO Nordic at around £7.50 p/m. Unlike the Sky Atlantic available via Now TV, it has all the past seasons of the HBO shows and content from other providers other than HBO.

With these options, the need for XL does become questionable if you don't mind watching most of your viewing via streaming.
